I have been lurking this thread. I wish I had more courage to try coding my '14 X3...is anyone in the South FL area willing to hand hold or even accept $$ assistance with coding?

Please un-confuse me - what files do I need?
Hello,
I own a 2013 X3. I recently downloaded a set of files that included E-sys application and psdzdata 47.5. I got this in this bundle: BMW_E-Sys_3.18.4_47.5 I have been reading many different posts on coding and have seen reference to a psdzdata file 4.85, (I think), and now I am seeing something about a 4.9. Can someone please tell me exactly what I need to begin coding? The first thing I want to do is to code a digital mph display to my instrument panel. - Will the 47.5 be sufficient? - If I need a later version can someone tell me how to get it? - Will a later version run with E-Sys version 3.18.4? Thanks in advance for your assistance. ERK ------ 2013 X3 28i |

To know with certainty what you need, the I-Level of the car must be determined. You can do this though using the E-Sys 3.18.4 and 47.5 PSdZData you already have as follows: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1403 If your I-Step (current) is <= F025-12-07-507, you can code your car with what you have. If your I-Step (current) is >= F025-12-07-507 & <= F025-12-07-509, you need 48.3 PSdZData to code your car. If your I-Step (current) is >= F025-13-03-501, you need 49.x PSdZData to AND E-Sys 3.22.5 to code your car, the later of which requires a new Patch / Token. If you just want to play it safe, then go with E-Sys 3.22.5 and 49.x PSdZData as you can't go wrong since it is fully backwards compatible.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to shawnsheridan for helping me out with e-sys. I have been coding for a while with INPA on my E93 and X5, but ordered a new X3 in early April and got a lot of good advice and help from Shawn. Picked up the X3 Saturday and started coding Sunday, realized I needed 49.3 data file, so again Shawn helped me out.
E-sys is much easier to setup and use than INPA and now my wife is happy that everything works as it should (and like I coded on the X5). So far added: M3 speedo Close hatch with fob and dash button Fold mirrors from the fob Open and close all windows and sunroof with FOB auto unlock doors when engine is turned off went to set auto start stop to remember last setting, but was already set to that in my 2014 removed nav and camera warning screens I added caller ID, entertainment options and blinkers to HUD, have not tested to see if they work yet. set the windows to continue to roll down when doors are opened - untested tonight going to try to add the M Performance Logo instead of BMW logo on the instrument cluster - apparently this is a bit hit or miss model to model if it works or not - probably depends if the logo file is loaded into the cluster or not. If you haven't done any coding yet, highly recommended and reasonably easy to setup and use! Rob

Let use know if you were able to code the M logo on startup... I couldn't find anyway to do that on my X3.

I'm in the Greater Detroit area and would love to do this too but I only have a Mac. My PCs are work computers. Definitely willing to compensate someone.
