Have you ever been outside of the US? To just take any price in a different currency and assume it translates number for number exactly as is, is just plain stupid.

Look, an X3M in Mexico costs 1,799,900!!!!!

I really hope your job doesn’t involve math.

Normalizing to the same currency based on current exchange rate, if MSRP in the U.K. is 100k and they get 25% off it’s 75k. If US price is 85k and dealers are doing 12% its 74.8k. The end price is basically the same even through discount percentage is double. So yeah, UK deals seem really great from a percentage standpoint but the lower percentages in other countries net out to the same price in dollars.

I hope your job doesn't involve reading comprehension. As I posted (more than once now) you can build an 80k pound comp model on the UK site. And they got 20k off. Not 100k. Net buy was 59k pounds on an 80k pound model. Weitz thinks that you need to convert to US dollars for some reason when you buy a car in the UK. Anyway, appreciate the chat. Enjoy.

Are you actually retarded and not know how currency has different value (worth) around the world? With your logic look how expensive the car is in Mexico.

It’s obvious some high-paid economics and marketing specialists researched markets all over the world to set the MSRPs, which sometimes they are off a bit which forces higher discounts in some markets after the fact. They set the UK price too high (for that market, with supply/demand and purchase power of the GBP), and consequently are offering a bigger discount.

If you are even looking at the “purchasing power” of someone in a country within their given currency, that even varies from region to region. There’s a lot involved if you are actually going to look at the “relative price” of the x3m in the UK vs USA.

You simply completely ignoring currencies outright and thinking “wow this is a bigger number than this” is a mind-blowingly simple outlook. You should probably read more in life.

My husband, who is British as I stated before, read this thread, along with our British friends and said if you think that 1Ł=$1, they have a lot of dollars they’d like to trade you for GBP.

Says the person who throws out "retarded". Go save it. You sound so immature and angry, God help the poor man.

Btw - I stand by my opinion that given the big money off on a new model whether here in the US or in the UK, the X3M are good leases or used purchases rather than a buy. I expect heavier depreciation and I would lease rather than buy. Or buy used.

Back to quoting deals - topic closed.

I insulted your intelligence/knowledge in the matter because you seem unable to comprehend basic facts. You bring in my husband as if I’m an uppity woman with an opinion who should know her place. Completely different, but again, you have an issue with comprehension. I’m not angry at all, rather flabbergasted about your views on things and complete ignorance to how the world works outside of your small area of the US. I tried to actually educate you on your misconceptions but it seems you are beyond help.

Thank you for your well founded opinion on leasing vs buying. I’m sure it’s helped lots of people.

Isn't that a big increase and really bad for lease numbers? Sorry I'm a little out of the loop, haven't done this since 2015 and I'm looking at getting one in September.

It's certainly an increase and, all other things being equal, would negatively affect your lease payment amount. However, with the increase in lease cash on the X3M, the net deal is better overall this month.

I wouldn't read too much into the lease numbers at this point if you are thinking about making a move in September. A lot can change in 6 or 7 months. Also, IIRC, the MF this time last year was .00188...

Edit: And to give more context, in Feb 2019 MF was .00188, but MF by Sept 2019 was .00128. A big fluctuation! I don't offer this as a prediction of where the MF will go, just as an example to demonstrate how much is can move over the calendar year.

It's an increase of 0.12% interest so Feb base lease rate is 3.408%. Multiply money factor by 2400 to get the interest rate. If you're in the market, the incentives and lease rates combine for some very good deals if you can get ~10% off MSRP before incentives.

82,695 MSRP

9k off plus $5250 in rebates = $14,250 total off.

Base MF for Feb, I think, gotta confirm.

3k down for fees/first payment.

836 a month for 3/10 lease.

Hey, just a little bit! Hope things are well!

I don’t see why not?

From what my dealer was telling me, especially in my area the X3Ms are not selling well at all. Seems like a similar story to the M4CS situation.
