I was about to code mine to startup in sport does this effectively do the same thing as pulling the fuse?
Doesn't do anything other than keeps the exhaust valve open all the time. Having the car in comfort vs sport just means the engine and transmission are more eco friendly and not as aggresive. Having your car start in sport will only keep the flap open until you go back to comfort or eco pro.

I pulled my 203 fuse and its been great. Just make sure if you want to do it, drive the car until it gets warm, put it in sport plus, move the shifter to the left, leave the car ON, pull fuse 203 in the trunk (panel on the right) and the valve will stay open until you pop it back in.

Is that Ceramic Coated or you just use something else to clean after a roadtrip ?

Reason I ask - I do alot of midwest interstate driving and after a drive when back home I do a hand car wash and use this product (link) to keep a slippery coat on the car to prevent bus and then use a power hose almost after every time i do a long drive.

Thinking of getting mine ceramic coated but still searching If I should just ppf it.

I ceramic coated the windshield when I got the X3. When I get back from a trip, I use hot water to soften-up the road kills; high pressure hose to rinse then use a Magic Eraser® to get the stubborn stains. Finish with a glass cleaner ( As in the pic) I reapply the ceramic when the water doesn't bead equally due to the use of the wipers.

Can you please link the ceramic product you use ? Your X3 looks really clean like a mirror.

After the rude parts guy telling me my SAV wasn't equipped with puddle lights and only carpet lights. He said I would have to "rewire" my doors to get this to work. I was confused because all the videos show pop out and pop in install on X3.

Anyway instead of buying these from BMW I got the Chinese ones someone posted on this thread. Took about 5 minutes both sides. Happy with results.

Love using Chemical Guys. Tried this product and didn't work well for me. Have mine ceramic coated and PPF'd. It's suppose to but was kinda too slick of a residue left behind, took forever to wipe clear. I use their Hybrid V7, works great.

looks clean, always a nice upgrade. Also, parts guy sounds like an arse. I'd be worried what type of parts guy they got working there if they don't know standard equipment details across models. Waiting on mine to arrive from getBMWparts.

I had the similar problem when I tried it the first time after a meticulous wash. At night it was horrible visibility as the wipe marks were evident. So to make this product work for me, I just use a fresh microfiber cloth after application of the ceramic coat and clean it in nice straight lines.

I keep mine fairly clean between washes. Making sure I have a slick coat of wax or Ceramic coat on it.

What you did is actually smart. I am more keen on PPF myself as rock chips are my biggest nightmare especially with interstate driving.

Don't you have a menu in your settings for "engine sound"? if you put Sporty it basically keeps the valve open all the time.

My 2022 doesn't have an option for Sporty (only balanced, reduced, and depending on driving mode).
I thought it only affects ASD though?

Interesting. My 2020 has a Sporty setting. It also affects engine burbles too, at least for 2020.
