Random question, when calculating taxes and interest for a lease, do you do it against the price of the car BEFORE manufacturer rebates and downpayments? I have a dealer saying the lease credit and loyalty is still taxed / paid interest on. Then deducted to get the final payment.

Over the last decade of buying BMWs including M cars, i've found it ALWAYS pays to email shop with SoCal dealers and then fly down to do the deal and pick up the car, YMMV. A Southwest flight will be $150, let's say $100 in gas to get back up is more than paid for in the savings. Plus if you want things like paint-protection film, an EAS visit, etc that's all cheaper down there and you can do it on the way out. Use this thread to figure out the deal and numbers you think is fair, negotiate all terms via email / phone and get them in writing - if the dealer insists you come in to do the deal, walk. Further, you can do a deal like this with any dealership in the country the same way - many dealers will do a "courtesy delivery" to get the vehicle to a local dealer, but that's something to negotiate. I go to SoCal simply because they're usually equal or better than anywhere else (NJ can be good too) Here's a list of SoCal people that may be out-dated (i've worked with all of them, some better than others), but the dealerships aren't of course: Paul Bailey, Irvine BMW paulb@irvinebmw.com Greg Poland, Pacific BMW, Glendale gregpoland@pacificbmw.com Dave Parker, Stevens Creek BMW, Santa Clara Dave.Parker@stevenscreekbmw.com David Aviles, Steve Thomas BMW, Camarillo bmwdavid@icloud.com Mike Scholtz, BMW of Ontario mscholz@bmwontario.dsmessage.com Jeff Kaltman, Rusnak BMW, Thousand Oaks bmwwecare@rusnakautogroup.com Mark Decker, BMW of Riverside mdecker@bmwriverside.com Steve Pangelina, BMW of Santa Maria steve.pangelina@gmail.com Steve Marx, South Bay BMW, Torrance smarx@southbaybmw.com Ahmad Banat, Long Beach BMW Ahmad.Banat@longbeachbmw.com |

Fremont is pretty decent - I'd email them along with the SoCal dealers, but you'll still probably get something more aggressive down south. |

I had a great experience with East Bay BMW in Pleasanton on my 2018 430i GC! They were very knowledgeable and I got a good deal.

https://youtu.be/M0Q5ReCw5Gs (just replace “porsche” with “bmw”). if you spell it out, written in black and white, they will make a deal with you, for sure at least 10% off msrp. I did what this guy said to do, and had 3 dealerships all willing to do a deal with me within 15 min. |

Also - NY doesn't charge a huge doc fee, I think mine was $75 or $95. But other states have to charge much more. NJ was $995 doc fee. That's a $30 a month difference on a lease. |

As an aside, while you probably already know this, NY does not allow MSDs. If you are planning on using MSDs, which I would highly recommend, you can still go to a NJ or CT dealer and use them, even if you are a NY resident. I find that the increased doc fee does not negate the MSD benefit. Indeed, the doc fee is just moving profit from one column to another; a dealer with a higher doc fee might offer a great % off selling price, whereas a lower doc fee dealer won't discount as aggressively. Your total spend will wind up the same, assuming you are doing it right. Doc fees, while regulated by some states, are largely just profit for the dealers. |

wow these are starting to become rather good deals (relatively speaking).
If you factor in an $82,345 MSRP competition model 12% off MSRP Minus all rebates that you can get with a few small things ($1500 loyalty, $3250 lease credit, $1000 OL codes, $500 BMWCCA) $6250 total rebates. MF .00137 7 MSD's (if thats still available, FL usually has them available) Aquision, 1st month, standard tax/doc fees due at signing I could potentially get this around $651 pre-taxed/month on a 36/30,000 lease according to Leasehackr's calculator. I think I just found my replacement for my M4cs in a few years

Deposit contribution has ended on that model and for lease the APR is up to 3.9% I believe

A question on negotiation etiquette.
Do you tell another dealer what specific dealer is making a better offer to you, when they ask? I live in NO and want a x3x custom build but local dealer has no current allotments for builds A Georgia dealer offered 9% off of msrp plus incentives which comes out to around %17 off of msrp but not sure if that does or doesn’t include destination. I asked Baton Rouge dealer whose offer was only 10% off of msrp including incentives. I said I could do better and they wanted to know who was making me the better offer? |
