Thanks! And I agree with you. What confuses me are the spider graphs EBC has on their website (pasted above). It seems like greenstuff is "better" than yellowstuff, on the items I highlighted previously.

Or perhaps I'm just misinterpreting the information.

Talking about Paragon rotors, did you keep the same size?

Talking about Goodridge SS, I installed them on my previous X1, although they didn't come with the proper rubber to hold them in place on the wheel hub (please see attached pictures for reference); they came with a generic rubber piece instead.

I want to order them for the X3 (https://www.goodridge.co.uk/collecti...w-387-hp-09-19), so please share your thoughts once you receive them.

Thanks!
The Paragon rotors are the same size as stock, the good is that it is a true 2 piece design. This is important as I will be taking an SAV on the road course, but overkill as a daily tbh. I convince Rottweiler also on the SS lines, I'm sure he will get his and post his thoughts as well. As for the rubber mount, maybe I can split the stock one and use that. I will see what can be done when it comes in.

I'm curious: Why did you choose those Paragon rotors (the same size as OEM) instead of some bigger ones like this (https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...t-kit-for-spo/)? Of course, if you want to spend a little more, but not as expensive as Brembo 6-pistons BBK.

Bigger rotors should give you better heat dissipation and better braking, right? Or are the 2-piece rotors even better?

Arrived today

These don’t look like the “generic” fittings you described

I won’t be installing for a couple of days though

Nice! They came with proper rubber adapters . I love the color. Perfect combination with red M-sport calipers.

Just to confirm, did you buy these ones (https://www.goodridge.co.uk/collecti...w-387-hp-09-19)?

Well, you probably bought from the link of the X4 m40i (https://www.goodridge.co.uk/collecti...ve-m40-i-04-18), right? But they should be the same.

That turner link isn't working btw.

Going with a real BBK such as Brembo is always gonna be a plus, but the cost is too crazy for what I need. Good 2 piece rotors, new high temp brake fluid and track pads for an occasional track day will be more than enough stopping power. After the track day I can switch to daily brake pads and flush the system.

Yes a larger brake surface will be a good thing, but heat build up reduction is more beneficial. The Paragon rotors have directional ventilation vanes in between and being slotted will be less prone to cracking on the face. Drilled holes help with cooling but may cause stress cracks on the face over time.

True 2-piece design allows thermal expansion and less heat transfer, plus the rotors are a tad lighter compared to stock BMW rotors( less unspring weight). Having larger OEM brakes isn't always the best.

Thanks! I appreciate your input.

Second time today that I messed up links. Here is the right one: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...t-kit-for-spo/. One user here installed it on an X4.

And what about pads? Will you keep using EBC? Blue for track, Green for daily driving?

Yes I have a set of blue that I will use for track duty with Titanium Pad Shims to protect the rubber boots on the calipers and I will use either green/red...still haven't tried red stuff..wanna see how it feels and see how much less dust it is.

Yes, what Burr001 said. Since it's designed for the G30 platform, it usually comes with 18" wheels.

Rottweiler you can see how it looks on the X4 here: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1852608

In all honesty, I think it looks like “too much brake” for that wheel. Out of scale. Not as bad though as those gargantuan wings you’ll see on the rear of some Porsches. Those look absolutely comical on the street

If the owner is on the track regularly or lives somewhere that they’re able to flog their car in the canyons; then I can understand it’s usefulness

Just my .02 coming from an island with virtually no open roads to let loose on. Purely an aesthetic observation

And I respect that. But, as you can see, I do like them, haha. Also, the X3M has rotors of the same size (395).

What I haven't quite decided yet is to go with that BBK or put something like the 2-piece Paragon rotors + EBC pads, like Burr001

IMHO, the M40i M-sport brakes are good but not great. At least not in Mexico, where the roads have plenty of curves, big differences in elevation, and some places where you can push it.

I'll keep digging.

I went with single piece, cross drilled, 100% for looks only. I don't track g01. No plan to. Okay, for straight line on the street. Would i notice any difference between 1 and 2 pieces on the street?

For apple to orange comparison, i can't tell any difference with true BBK,

On the street you wont see the extreme heat swings that you will on the track. So its less likely you will experience brake fade due to fluid over heating or the pads glazing. Unless your on the road and slamming on the brakes 0-100 then 100-0 at every light....lol.
