Sometimes when wired things happen, a full factory reset brings the life back.

You need a trip to the Sahara...or the southern US.

16 degrees Celsius is perfect driving weather! All that cool air blowing into the B58 is splendid!

My applications are updated daily as they appear...In iOS settings, battery, the battery usage by application is shown in order of battery usage. For me the BMW app was 79%, next app was Safari at ~11%. Funny thing is that I was not using the BMW app at all so why was it chewing up my phone battery??!

I'll try it again at some point but for me, not really needed.

Make sure you don’t have any bmw widgets active and turn off background app refresh and its battery usage will drop to 0 unless you’re in it to send commands, track, etc

In my opinion, MyBMW app is one of the best out there in the market, probably just as good as Tesla's performance wise.

I would definitely try reinstall it and see if things changed, cheers!

I think the X3 was just messin' with you. It was lonely and wanted a visit is all.

Cheers~

No widgets and background app refresh for BMW app was off...that's why I deleted the BMW app. Bizarre! Phone battery is much happier now.

I've done that and still the battery is discharging more quickly.

Today, I noticed the MY BMW app was not showing the accurate location of my car in the "Find My Car" map in the app. In the past it always showed an accurate location.

It appears that when a destination is created (on the app) and sent from the app to the car all goes well.....BUT.....when I arrive at the final destination the app displays the STARTING LOCATION as the final destination......and in reviewing the route it will ONLY display the route's time and distance IF WALKING not driving.

Not sure if the latest app update is screwed up but two calls the the BMW Geniuses proved unable to help, since all they could do is "create a ticket" and say that someone will email me in 7-10 days.

As a side note, the two Genius' I spoke to were unable to re-boot the car's nav/radio screen....pressing and holding the volume button for 15 seconds, then again for 1 min and then again for 2 minutes did not re-boot the system (iDrive 6)

Any ideas?????

In addition to my post (just before this post)....I want to ask HOW do I reboot an iDrive 6 system?

The "holding down" of the VOLUME BUTTON to re-boot DOES NOT WORK!
Per the Genius I spoke to, I tried holding the VOLUME BUTTON down for 15 seconds, then 30 seconds, then 1 minute and finally 2 minutes......nothing!, no resetting took place.

Anyone with a 2020 X3 with iDrive 6 have any suggestions?

Like many on here, I use the My-BMW App, but turned off the software updates, no issues and the car is perfect. All the updates do is cause problems, BMW does not need to install any new or improved ways to track me!

Fixed.....went to the iDrive screen and under iDrive settings I located the screen that gave me the option to un-check the box for "vehicle tracking"......then I opened the app and indeed the location screen had a message saying it was turned off. Then I re-checked that box, to turn on the location and all was cleared up on the app. Fixed.
