My 2022 X4 went in for the 6P1 recall/update last week (and also a complete AdBlue system failure after less than 500 miles).
When I collected I could see WiFi was added (car requested adding WiFi connection to my already configured mobile/bluetooth), but no CarPlay/Android Auto. I decided to wipe out the setting on the car this morning as I've been getting issues with items saving to profile (ambient lighting keeps defaulting back to Bronze), and issues with profile switching (when my wife's key/profile unlocks the car by accident, seats/mirrors move, lighting and media setting change. When I switch back to my profile, the seats move, the mirrors don't move, media changes, but lighting doesn't). I figured I'd wipe and just recreate my profile for now and see how it behaves. However, after resetting vehicle settings, CarPlay and Android Auto both appeared. I setup CarPlay and it's working well, in full screen as expected. Anyone who had 6P1, and has since had the .53 update and isn't seeing CarPlay, hard as it is, try resetting your vehicle settings. It should get CarPlay activated. |

My car was a January'22 build and I get the above update about a month ago. I have NOT had any recall notices nor was I affected by the RAM issue (but then, that's because I don't have the HK speakers, I guess). |

When I’m checking availability of new updated it says the newest software is installed…. Did everything worked for you straight after update ? Or maybe I just don’t know how to install it or turn it on ? |

It came up with a WiFi connected/enabled message (can't remember - it still comes up every time I get in and turn on, but I don't really pay much attention to the idrive screen when I get into the car…. ). Then when you select the media options, CarPlay appears as an option in the menu (along with saved radio stations, Spotify, etc). |
