Not that I am obsessive

Mine is due at the dealers at latest on week 46 which would mean it must ship by 11 Oct. Anything before that and it should arrive a bit earlier.

Exciting times!
Mine is due 2nd of November so I guess it's going to sit around for a few weeks at a port. Just paid off to the VT point on my 435d so it's getting real!
Mine is about to hit Ghana tomorrow. Due into Southampton 9th October currently

This forum is very benign though, not nearly as brutal as the F30 forum and much less banter. Some may say quite serious but everyone seems good.

Let us know how you get on with a brief write up when she lands.
Thanks mate. I vaguely remember you from back in the day. I still pop over to the UK forum but don't post much anymore.

I'll be sure to put pics and a write up don't you worry

Nice combination. I ordered an X4 M40i this week and I like red leather but wasn't possible to combine with M Sport seats so I went for cognac leather, same as I have now in my G01, which is very nice too.

I chose carbon fiber trim as well, and I am really worried seeing that all 2021's arriving to USA dealers have the center console in piano black no matter which trim you paid for, even carbon one.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some European 2021 unit...

Thanks mate.

I tried the M seats and didn't like them. Found them very hard at the sides on the base so it was an easy choice for me. I hope they work out for you.

I believe the UK spec still gets part Piano Black on the centre console even if you spec carbon too. I'll be looking into wrapping it as I'm not a fan either

I've tried them too, and base is exactly the same as regular Sport Seats that I have now in my G01, only backrest is different, and comfortable for me as I am not too big, so I went for them as I find them really beautiful.

Let's see how specs are here regarding center console, but just in case it has piano black, I have already noted OE reference for that part in carbon (51168072940)...I prefer to put the original part than just wrapping.

Interesting on that part reference - thank you. I'll look into that for a right hand drive part number

I have several BMW's under my belt so not new to the brand but took a swerve off piste last time and went with Audi after a shocking experience with BMW.

Anyway, fast forward 18 months and I started looking for something a bit bigger than the current TTs (not difficult I know) and easier to get in and out of, but being a fussy bugger I was finding the choices limited. Must have's were decent (petrol) engine, 4 x usable seats, load space for occasional tip/IKEA work, decent tech. I discounted Volvo, Porsche, Merc and Audi - apart from the RSQ3 - as nothing from them really floated my boat and was more set on the SUV style rather than touring/wagon models.

I'd not really given the X4 much thought until I saw one on the road and really liked the looks. There are a lot of X3's round by me but the X4's seem pretty rare.

So after a bunch of research, a good look at both the X3 and X4 and talking to my SA, I got to test drive one for a day.

Really happy with the test drive so I placed a factory order 16th August.

Spec is as follows;

X4 M40i
Sophisto Grey
Fiona Red/Black Individual Extended Merino Leather
Carbon Interior Trim

M Sport Plus Pack;
21'' 718M wheels
Individual high gloss shadow line
M Seatbelts
Fiona Red/Black Merino leather (in place of the M Seats)
Lumbar support
Sun Protection glass
Adaptive M suspension

Tech Pack;
Head Up Display
Wi-Fi Hotspot Prep
Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging
Harmon Kardon surround sound
Gesture Control

Comfort Pack;
Comfort access
Heated Steering wheel
Extended storage

Additional Options;
Heated Front and Rear seats
Galvanic Embellisher for Controls
Active Cruise with Stop and Go
(Includes Speed Limit Info)

Build week is week 39 (WC 21 September)and expected at the dealers on week 46 (WC 8 November)

I love tracking the cars and have already been looking up shipping timetables from Charleston to the UK (assuming they come into Southampton) and also assuming BMW use Wallenious Wihelmsen as the carrier.
If anyone has any info on this I would be grateful.

Current status updated on 8th September is 5055 - Confirmed by Production Control - so build is on for next week

For those of like minds and are interested, I will keep this thread updated as it moves through the stages up to me taking delivery.

Exciting times and I'll keep reading this forum to pass the time 'till it's in my hands and then hopefully I'll be able to contribute a bit more.

Rukka
Great build, My X3 M40i is almost identical, I kept The M seats.

Question - Does your X4 have to go via Germany 🇩🇪 or does it head straight into Southampton🇬🇧?

Sytner advised mine will go via Germany?

Cheers

I think that the normal eastbound shipping route is first across the Atlantic with BMW X cars. I'd imagine it's a relatively small load compared to what those behemoths can handle. The first stops are at three or four ports on the continent to drop off some of the X cars and load up Volvos, Mercs, BMWs and Audis headed for the Americas. Then on to Southampton where they unload the UK's X cars and pick up Minis, LRs and Jags (well, not many Jags ). And then they head west. Those companies know logistics and how to efficiently move freight.

Cheers. When is your's due? (week number) might be on the same boat.

From what I can see, all of the ships from Charleston make a port call at Germany. I wouldn't have thought that the cars get off the boat - just pick up more.

EDIT: Just seen the post above which explains it better

That’s really helpful, thank you.
My sales rep advised my X3 will go via Germany which I found strange.
Just been advised the ‘supply chain date has changed\extended’

My X3 is coming from South Africa 🇿🇦 I’ve been told?
VIN number has a ‘N’ in it.

Do you call genius to track your VIN\Car?

I was told car was due end of Sep, then Mid Oct now a email From the sales guy stating its due mid Nov, which is driving me bonkers.

Ask your sales guy for a screenshot of the BMW order system for yours. It will tell you current status, due date etc. You can then ask the genius using the AG order number which is also on the screenshot.

My sales guy sends me one on request so it's not uncommon to ask for one.

And yes, I chase the BMW genius at least once a day

Mine is now saying delivery 9th November so delayed a week. I got my VIN but can’t get any of the decoders to recognise it. Anyone got a decoder that works?
