I choose the DO88 Manifold over the Wagner, because it should have the better core and the OEM Engine Cover fits with it.

And yes, fits the Gen2, as you said.

Did you inquire about the difference between the "MERA" and non-MERA manifold? All I read is because its "garrett crafted=more upcharge". It didn't stage numbers about increased cooling/bigger core etc. I'm curious to what justifies a $1200 difference between the 2 cores.

No, I didn't.
The cheaper one comes from China, what I know, the Mera one from Sweden. Somewhere I´ve read, that It should have a bigger core, but I don´t know it. I got it for € 2950, shipping included, so I went with the Mera.

At the beginning, I also considered the EOS intake manifold, but it would have cost me a lot more and I think, the DO88 is a good choice.

do88 is a good brand.

Do we know what the limitations of the OEM core is? At how much HP you should consider upgrading? I think stock turbo its sufficient?

For stock turbo the oem core is enough for shure.

As I run an upgrade turbo I want to be "safe" for summer days, that the IAT does not rise too high.

As the X3 M40i in Europe does only have the one main cooler it is a good thing in my opinion. The US version also has an "auxiliary cooler", which the EU version doesn't has, so the EU version should be more sensible for heat soak i think.

Think I am wrong, as the auxiliary radiator seems to be for the engine oil.

But I have to look at it closer...

No radiators available.

I purchased a forge to see if we could modify setup to make fit and ended up wasting a lot of $$$.

Now runing 580hp with standard set up.

You will be fine

If you want additional capacity Carbahn [Dinan] has an X3M\X4M auxiliary radiator that would work. Would need to knock up custom hoses between the primary and auxiliary. But the OEM Heat Exchangers are the same part no for the M and M40i on the X3/4.

Not cheap.

You could maybe do something similar with a Mishimoto universal radiator for a lot less.

Thanks.

Where would this be mounted on the M40i? On which place?
