H&R springs and H&R 15mm spacers all around. Purchased from RGSport.
I honestly think I can run 18mm in the rears. Has anyone done that yet?

Sort of off topic, but I installed the MSS kit on my X3M and I get a weird spring binding or like metal twisting sound on slow speed turn in. Everything mechanically feels fine and at speed there are no symptoms, but I’m pretty sure something isn’t supposed to sound like that.

Not sure if this is appropriate for here, but considering there’s a bunch of folks with lowered X3M’s it’d be my best bet.

It's all good. I'm sure someone will chime in, but yes that doesn't sound right.

BrockDM can you tell me if you have any rubbing issues with the KW3.. I love the stance of your car I want to do that exact thing, but I worry about bottoming out.. have you had the KW3 and put a decent amount of weight in the trunk, or have you driven it with many passengers with you? Any issues?

I only rub on very rare occasions. Most of the time if I'm doing 80mph+ over a big dip on the highway I'll hear a tiny bit up front. The rears don't at all.

I've had passengers and cargo in the back with no issues. I'm also running -2deg camber all around which helps a lot.

Despite the stated drops, the Eibach/Dinan/H&R seem to have very similar ride heights (based on the pictures in this thread). Does anyone have experience with how the ride compares between these 3?

Im going through the same thing, seen so many others post with the same complaints of MSS front spring bind and noise at slow speed turns. I’ve been talking with MSS and tried a few times rotating the springs and also moving adjuster collar slightly. Mine was making noises turning both directions and both L and R side made pop and clunk noises, but I’ve also noticed at times it made steering bind or behave oddly just L or R of center, especially when going straight line or exiting a turn and straightening up, it would almost be a bit twitchy and jerk one direction a bit. Just had alignment prior and made no change. Mss suggested rotating the spring so that the top perch where spring seats should be rotated so not visible when looking through wheel or side view if that makes sense. Apparently that helps take tension off of the spring causing the binding and popping. So far I’m at about 80% improvement after trying to move them around a bit, only pass side is making noise now and it’s much less, steering is almost back to normal too. I’ll likely keep messing with it, with any luck one day maybe I’ll get it completely quiet! Anyway, hope this helps you and others that have mentioned noise from the front when turning slow speeds. Best of luck and please keep us posted!

I really want this spring because of the adjustability but this issue has me concerned because it's been mentioned several times and there doesn't seem to be a great answer. My biggest question is that not everyone reports the noise so is it installation error?

From what I can tell everything is installed correctly and spring indexed with upper mount correctly also. Provided installation instructions certainly don’t provide much detail or indicate orentation of spring, not sure why since after emails they seem to know that a particular placement of where upper spring starts reduces spring tension and limits noise.

Save and go with the KW V3 coils,Yes they are pricey but you pay for what you get. I'm lowered on the MSS and I also have noise issue when turning the wheel while reversing. I turn the spring 1/4 to try to correct the issue, but the noise is still slightly there. Also the ride quality is not the greatest for my taste and you can't set the MSS to the lowest setting with out riding on the bump stop. I 100% will be switching over to coils something I should had did front the start.

Well i think with this type of feedback MSS is out for me, i'll either take your recommendation or just do HR with whatever drop that yields...

I agree, that is a prefect drop... i'm guessing HR's would be a quarter or half inch higher.

It's hard to tell in these pictures but were you satisfied with the difference in the height after HR's were installed?

20" x 10 ET20 all around - MSS Springs

The folks that complain of MSS springs making noises are IMHO the victim of a "less than perfect" installation. I had mine done by the man himself (Ben at r33_RGSport) - no problems.

In order to be able to rotate tires (front to back, of course), I switched to 20" x 10" ET20 wheels wrapped in 275/40 rubber. The ET20 basically mimics original ET with 12mm spacers as far as I can tell.

I have H&R springs and at times I do wish it was a tad bit lower. But I also have to remind myself that this is my daily driver. The problem is with the stock shocks you cant really go any lower without running into issues. I couldn't justify dropping 3k+ on the KW on a brand new car.

This drop looks perfect to me... did you use the Dinan bump stops when you had the springs installed?

I see you're in North Florida btw.. I'm in Jacksonville... hope to see you around sometime!
