The front seat belts (upper) replacement seems straightforward, although i'm sure there are electronic plugs that need to be dealt with (unlike older cars without the tensioners).
Just doing the front two for now. Rear seems bit more narly... I've used this place before for webbing on e39/e46. |

And i see now what meant by contour, and upon closer inspection, "should be fine", at least i have first hand look at the shaping differences. Looks like g01, g02, f97 and f98 all share the same part #'s for dashboard and carrier instrument panel. What i don't get is, why BMW thinks g01 owners do not deserve such options, and only available on sportier g02 and all out M cars. Seems bit bias (???) view of x3 owners... After the inspection of the center console, got out of there as quickly as i can before walking out of there with x4. For this price? NOT! https://www.bmwsouthpoint.com/invent...j5c56klj62895/ |

A local BMW dealer is offering this for £19.99 (about 25 USD) including a check.

Yeah, it just doesn't look the same imho… never one to be a 'purist', but almost every interior upgrade I've stockpiled is OEM and I'd like to keep that streak going

I mulled over doing another webbing replacement going with the myairbags.com folks, at the end turned out nice, went with bold accent since the thinner M lines weren't available in E cars anyway. If you look closely you can tell that an OCD person may notice a slight off compared to how BMW factory lays out the tri-color lines on their webbing in M seat belts. For X3, i got their 70300 samples, and put it next to the stock M seat belt, and i'm picky/OCD, and i couldn't tell the difference. Maybe others can. And maybe others may feel aftermarket webbing may keep them awake at night. Difference in X3 with E cars will be that the pyrotechnic parts will be with the retainer and not on the buckle. Also noticing that X3 stock seat belts doesn't have the usual BMW label sowed on. Did inquire about these parts, and response from local parts i work with replied, 72-11-8-076-197 Upper belt front left 72-11-8-076-200 Upper belt, front right |

DYI or dealer job?
Interested in what it takes to change it out. Will you DIY or have the dealer do it. Can you reuse the existing fasteners or will you need new ones. Also, how many labor hours should it take (at the dealer)? Thanks

I will call into my SA and see what they will charge, but even OCD techs which they do, nothing will be as same as if i (take the time to) do it myself. If i do it then i can piggy back on the F97 shift knob at the same time (sort of) so there is that bonus. |

Soon (???)
And don't think the seats need to come off for center console swap, at least doesn't show that in TIS... The added (colored) leather trim just makes the interior, POP, and look "luxury/sporty" (what do i know......)! So much going on in next few weeks, catless AA DP, dyno, exterior trims, interior custom upholstery/embroidery, super pimp/ghetto mods on the way, etc. help........ Can these trim panels be removed from the main centre console piece? Are they screwed in place? I would like to feed a cable under them, and it would be easier if they were removed.
