Thanks for the great reference and info Torinalth! Im definitely only sticking to E30. Here in CT we only have 1 E85 gas station and it's 1 hr away so I cant do half tank fill ups unless I have a tanker parked in my back yard.
If my tuner recommends an upgraded FP to get an extra .05 hp then Ill definitely do it. Also you should get a dragy if you don't already have one. I like doing before and after any mods. The street is your drag strip.

oh I do. I've been playing with it, but honestly Dragy has been somewhat unreliable in my experience. partially in part due to non-ideal road conditions that seems to screw with its tracking. I'm still trying to figure out how best to get my timing with my location, schedule, and everything else. I do NOT have the best setup for getting exact repeatable perfection. but I can test to show differences even if not viable for comparison to other people's cars.

_ink - since I didn't say it previously, congrats on the new pump and think you made a good decision with DE.
so quick compilation on virtual dyno. not the best, but i'm working on getting cleaner logs so I can make better comparisons. hate how the boost/afr plot on the bottom is cut off.... not sure how to scale it higher. and i'm working on the rest of the e30 tunes over the next week weather permitting. Of course note, that this is JUST tune differences, I've got all the same hardware in my sig for every log/plot. but shows how the upgraded pump and tuning can go a long way

The increase from the HPFP/e30/tune is impressive! Even more impressive is where the power starts @ 2500rpms, and carries throughout the entire rev range - very usable power increase!! |

I am a new member here, my X3 M40i is just about to arrive, I plan to go stage 1, then straight to stage 2+ (with a Dorch) then likely onto a GC turbo. Thanks for the info you're providing, it is very helpful, but a query about the power figures you have quoted. On the BM3 B58 page the increases they quote are a lot higher than those in your graph: https://www.protuningfreaks.com/prod...0i-m140i-m340i If we start with a baseline of 312 RWHP, stage 1 on 93 would take us to a max of 375 rwhp, with stage 2+ on 93 taking us up to closer to 450 RWHP. The fact some M140i guys are well into the 10's on standard turbos would suggest people are making the kind of power figures quoted on the BM3 page. Finally, do you use Dragy? I notice the fastest X3 M40i on there (at 11.5 1/4 mile) is claiming stage 1, however I think it's a 2020 with a custom tune. I'm assuming its an E30 blend to be getting those numbers though. |

11.5 1/4 in a 2020 M40i is very doable stock turbo. And lastly we can never compare a 140i to a huge X3. Same hp for hp our 60-130 times are going to be much lesser as taking 5,000lbs tall and square to pull just as hard as a toy box isnt going to happen. Good luck tuning and getting addicted to this.

How was the install PNP or you had to force some parts back in to make it fit? Did you install it and run with no time just stock maps?

For G01 installs be sure to let Dorch know, as the LPFP line is longer and requires x2 90 degree fittings. Credit goes to Torinalth for pioneering this and pointing it out. I flashed the Stage 2+ map, which allows for the Dorch to be selected. Last edited by _ink; 09-13-2020 at 06:51 AM.. |

It would depend on your ethanol blend/power goals. I used to run a JB4 + MHD flash combo on my N54, but Flash only is much more simple if your not doing auxiliary fuelling like meth or PI. |

Not seeing recent updates to this thread, hoping the car is still going strong.
Found this thread along with one below, https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=16 Counting myself as perf modder, irony is that done on the wife's car (she still won't let go of her 2002 honda odyssey)... Ordered the stage 1 (not stage 2, no plan to go past 500 rwhp ) Dorch hpfp, more for the PnP nature of install (don't like the idea of splicing/cutting wiring harness, although the extension could be hand made). Will see how this goes, with a) mhd b) a/a downpipe (catted) c) mst intake (just for sound) d) e30 (no plan yet to run >e30, until hardware flexfuel support on gen 1 b58 from mhd, COME ON MHD !!!) with fuel-it E content monitoring If can hit 500 rwhp, or come close to, call it done. |

It will allow you to run higher ethanol content (full e85), and to get the max benefit of that, a custom tune (which I've been meaning to do) will see the full potential of that. For now, I'm only running the stage 2+ map which has made 304kw atw.

Hoping w E50 her X3 will be in the 11.3/11.4 range. I've seen some folks pushing 11.0 with this setup but lighter wheels
