I just checked Bavsound website. They have not released for the 2018, X3 yeah. I will check Bimmertech too. So is it possible to upgrade to stage 1 speakers? Then later on upgrade the amp?

Are you sure you checked it correctly? I just did a quick look at it is there, 2018-2019 StageOne speaker upgrade.

Yes the speaker upgrade is there. But the amp is not there for 2018

BimmerTech said that as long as your audio option is 676 Hi-Fi, then their amp will be compatible.

Awesome!! Replacing the amp..... would it interfere with any other functions? Warranty could be voided too, right?

Warranty shouldn't be voided right out of the bat unless they can determine or pin point that the aftermarket parts causing the problem.
But, of course, BMW can't warranty your aftermarket audio system itself since you have non BMW parts.

Yes I understand. So replacing the amp would only help me crank up the volume right. The clarity and the bass would be the same?

No, with stronger amp, you get more frequency getting pushed to the speaker.
It works similar to horsepower and torque.
Stronger amp will give you the details of sound (engine torque) to the speakers even at low volume (low rpm). But when you crank it up (higher engine rpm), it will give you loudness (hp).

Ahhh yes now it makes sense. How do you find out what my amp size is 656 hi-if? To replace with the bimmer amp?

How do you like it? Did you have the factory hi-fi? Or HK? Is there a big difference? Where did you get the amp from?

I am not sure on that.
For sure it is weaker than HK Amp.

The soundsgot more deep, pleasent, soft. Of course, the sound is still far away from good, but it is acceptable and it worths the money I paid. It took me 2 hours to do the upgrade myself with no previous experience of doing such task. Thanks to clear video instruction from BAV. I have to admit, that BAV has speaker which fits G01 with no problem I had to drill a small hole in the door cover to insert the cable.

Have a G01 with the standard US Hi Fi. It is awful. No base, no highs, no mids. Changed for the bavsound stage one but left the factory subs and amp. The bavsound stage one is much, much cleaner. It is slightly less loud but you can turn up the volume to near max without distortion. With the original speakers above 75% sounded very distorted. Thus the stage one has a usable loudness above factory. The subs and amp need to be replaced but since this is my wife's car and she does not care about anything but sound quality. The stage one was a simple cheap upgrade that was well worth it.

I have a G20 with the HK. My bass is substantially louder and you can feel it. My mids and high volume is also louder. Overall however the clarity is not as good as the base HI FI with the Stage One.

So it comes down to money. How much is sound worth it to you. Back in the day I spent thousands, had three amps, caps, custom sub box, bla bla bla.... every time you add more to the system the law of diminishing returns kicks in. So the more you spend the better is sounds just loose bang for the buck.

I contacted BAVSOUND, they quoted me $78 + $15 shipping for the new gaskets to pass the cable without drilling.
