The 3GT and this are the same car. I don't get it.
As for wagon not selling, have you looked at their pricepoint compared to an X3 ? You really have to WANT a wagon to buy one, because economically, it makes no sense -at all- |

They should also sell a better looking version of the F30 alongside the F30. You know, for those people who want a 3 series sedan but don't like the way it looks. Call it the 3S (using Apple terminology). It will be to the 3 series sedan what the X4 is to the 3 series GT.

Hey now. Surely, someone in the BMW Thinking Room or the management asked this question:
Now how do we come up with a car for someone who -

I want it. I think it looks great.
Its the more practical sports car. Definitely not a grocery getter. I'd love to see it without the chromed wheels. |

Oh yeah. I forgot about that car. Too much to keep up with. :-/
What about people who do not like the way the new 3 series coupe looks but want a BMW coupe anyways that is different from the rest? For them, BMW should make a 3 series Gran Sedan. A coupe that looks like a sedan. Or a sedan with 2 doors. Last edited by misterbeemer; 04-04-2013 at 09:46 PM.. |

I've never been a fan of the x6, but this I could get used too...
I hope those headlights (or similar ones) end up on the x3!

Theyre coming out with the 3 series GT and now when all these become available, people are going to have a hard time choosing between the 3 Gt, 5 Gt ,x4 and x6. 4 cars that look exactly alike with the exception of a few inches in size....

Pls do a side-by-side with a 3-GT.
Except the 4-series additions & curve the overall dimensions seem same.

I was hoping for more of an Evoque shape, instead of 3/5 X6. But BMW has bought into a single design style, 3 sizes, for all of its products.
3 Sedans 2 GTs, maybe a 3rd. 1 Gran Coupe, possibly a 2nd. All look similar, just different sizes. |

BMW Sales pitch in 2015:
Would you like a coupe, a sedan, a coupe-like sedan (GS), a sedan like coupe (GT), a SUV or a coupe like SUV. And what size would you like it: Small, Medium, or Large. |

The X6 and X4 are similar in that both are totally derivative of an existing platform - and in the case of the X4 one whose costs are several years deep into amortization. So it's not all that expensive, in the grand scheme, for BMW to bring the X4 to market - much less than it was for them to develop and introduce the F30, for example.

This is a niche market. It has its target market. Its ok if you are not part of it...
Although it may not be everyone's cake, but I strongly believe, BMW is pretty solid at making original footprints...remember X5-the first ever luxury SUV? or X6 the first ever sport coupe SUV? M-B has been trying the past 2 years two release a x6 similar SUV. Doesn't that tell you something? I think the X4 is a great median between an X3 and X6...provided that the price range is also in that median range. I would trade in my X3 with X4 any day (although I must say my X3 is a fantastic piece of art) Anyone knows the release date for X4? |
