Seeing as BMW are now abandoning OS8 already, I think it's fair to say they've put the final nail in the OS7 coffin.

Personally I feel Idrive 7 is current the best. Idrive 8 too many touch screen functions which can be hard to control when on the move. And what most importantly the missing 8 hard touch button short cut.

Has anyone been able to download an over-the-air update for a version after 03/2022.64? Or have updates to newer versions only been completed by dealer? Thanks.

In fourteen months of ownership, I haven't seen a single OTA update. The only updates have been via the dealer.

Hello; I'm writing on my husband profile just to ask about update for my 530e from 2020. I have pre LCI 2020 BMW 530e with iDrive7. Thing is I would like to update my iDrive7 to newest version but when I use BMW website with my VIN it says that updates will be done automatically(which I presumed that my car have RSU but it doesn't 'cause there is no option in my cars option settings). Is there any other solution for update or I need to go to BMW dealership to update my car.Software version on car in this moment is from 2020. Thx in advance
