oooops I read that you had a vin number, not production number. Well the good news is that you have a production number. I am still waiting for those for a few orders I have. |

My Alpine White X3 xDrive 35i Starts Production!
Noticed earlier today at My BMW that my 35i M Sport had moved to "production" status. Sales manager told me a few hours later that it's their first X3 M Sport to start production. Did others see this change today or earlier? I was expecting more buzz if it had.

But in reality, I'll bet it gets some special treatment and extra inspection if it is the first one with that trim level.

I didn't mean tp suggest that this was the first M Sport to start production. It was the first X3 M Sport ordered by my dealer to start production. Can't say whether it will get special attention or not. My e60 M5 was the first one delivered to my dealer, and it's been essentially problem-free for 5.5 years The second one delivered to the same dealer was constantly in the shop for one thing or another. Could be the car, but it could be the driver that made the difference. I prefer to think it was the latter.

The delay for mine will be largely due to the window I have requested for PCD. And actually, I'd rather it be build "just in time" than sit on a lot for a month waiting for me. But that said, I am anxious to see it start production.
I don't think anyone has taken delivery of an M Sport yet - at least there have been no announcements or photos posted on this forum. I'm sure they will flood in once they start coming off the trucks.

You bastard! I mean... congratulations. I'd love to get May 27, but imagine that would be impossible. Otherwise, I'll probably be stuck waiting until mid June, at my own stupid request.

Doubtful, as it is the same engine as 35i without M Sport. Simply a cosmetic... and perhaps aerodynamic... difference.

Not the cleaning debate again! We know you just want to scare people off so that you have a unique combo.

Yeah, unfortunately Oyster is not exclusive like Lemon was (the few, the proud) so I figure if I fuel the fire of fear that will detur people from getting it. I hear that if a spec of dust lands on your oyster leather, you'll never get it out and it spreads... eventually staining the entire surface and creates a putrid smell.

UDPATE:
My CA reports that I am scheduled for Week 18 (May 2-6). I am still undecided about PCD, but leaning toward not doing it because of the timing and logistics, but we'll see.

I know the timing and such make it difficult, but the PCD is a wonderful place you definitely need to experience. Not as cool as Euro Delivery, but still amazingly BMW.

Has your CA given you a build week? They should know what week of production it is allocated for.

I noticed that on the 'check-in' thread. You have a very coveted PCD date! The Friday before Memorial Day... nice!! I was hoping maybe I could get that date, but ultimately I had to cancel PCD because I just won't be able to take time off around then and had no idea what date I would get.
