The dynamic suspension is standard on the m40i, optional on the 30i. The h&r springs only appear to be for the dynamic suspension. Just call them to confirm. |

Here ya go!
H&Rs installed! I am very pleased with the setup. The stock setup in the rear was fine, but the front needed to be brought down to eliminate the fender gap... Success! The vehicle still rides and drives as smooth as butter... you wouldn't know anything had changed from the drivers seat.... it just looks better! |

I have lowered 3 cars with their springs but since I tend to just keep cars a year or two, I am going to try not to lower this one so I'm not just wasting money. |

Probably a dumb question but is it possible to run any lowering springs with the M Suspension i.e. adjustable dampers? The roads where I live suck, even running 20" non-runflats (I sold my factory 21's and bought factory 20's) the ride can be really harsh at times. I was hoping some decent aftermarket lowering springs would help out a little.

Just a thought; the track width will increase a bit with spacers, right?
Here in Sweden they usually are very picky not changing that, in the authorities' forced annular check of our vehicles. And they usually do things like that for a good reason. I'm thinking, is there perhaps possible issues with handling, safety systems, traction in our cold winters, etc? I am also thinking about the general design of the damper systems on the car; the center of the tire is not the center of the intended extension of the springs any more, i.e. the main load, of the vehicle. See the notes about scrub radius here: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/ |

How does the car ride with those new springs? Is the ride more harsh, the same, or softer? What about body roll?

Hello everyone.
Any updates, or anybody else have the H&R kit put on? I recently brought home my G02 and am desperately scouring the internet for lowering solutions. Looking for more of a drop than what is advertised, but not having any luck whatsoever. Also planning on installing spacers to fill out the flare. If you guys know of any options, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance. |

I was hoping to avoid coilovers because from what I've seen is that you have to run software to disable the DDC in order to install them. I am going to call H&R directly to see if they will be producing the Super Sport Springs which will likely drop it near 2" or more. |

If there's anyone else here looking for a more substantial drop on their G01/G02 without opting for coilovers I beg you to nag H&R with me to get the ball rolling on Super Sport Springs ASAP. |

Only coilover will allow you to go beyond 1.5". With spring, you will bottoming out the shock all the time or riding on a bump stop.

Maybe I just need to get the Sport Springs thrown on and hope they settle down even more. In this thread there are pictures of a G01 that EAS lowered on H&R's and just can't fathom how that was only a 1" drop as they claim on their website. Either that or my car is just a taller mutant that slipped through the cracks. |

I have done a lot of X5/X6's. 1.75" is max on stock shock. Some don't like the ride quality since it is close to riding on the bump stop. And the Coupe design tends to sit a little higher. X6 is higher than X5, X6M too. But also slanted rear half play tricks with your eye. All I noticed from H&R Sport spring, the rear is higher than the front. I think the ACS spring gives more even drop. Usually, lowering spring will settle for another 1/16 to 1/8.
