It seems this is common for other BMW models as well.

What's not common is there is no code solution for the F97s.

Perhaps they will come out with one?

What is the code solution on the other BMW models?

I have had 5 BMW with Comfort Access powered trunk, and non of them ever opened up by itself.
Both parked inside and outside the garage.

I only pocket my key when I drive or about to drive.
At home it will be sitting on my key tray with other car keys.
At the office, it will be sitting on my office table with other keys.

Maybe I can look up the code solution on what is the difference with my cars.

I saw it in other forums here (G01 for example). Some said it requires the vehicle to be unlocked prior to opening the trunk. Others were not that specific.

I have read several posts stating this is an issue - I’ll try to dig up when I have time.

It’s also not clear if these are all due to sensitive key fobs or an actual issue where the boot just opens up. Could be both or model specific.

So this happened to me yesterday!
2018 520d
The worst bit was I was driving!
I had pulled off from lights and was doing about 25mph when the dash lit up stating boot open, I think all my doors unlocked too.
Very concerning and dangerous, should not be able to open boot whilst car is in motion.
Keys were sat in the cup holder so no chance of accidental press.

Going to book into dealers and see what they say.

My boot won't even open with the foot under the bumper now. I think with the Stealth Hitch installed, it obstructs most of the sensor or something because it really takes a ton of effort to get it open and you start to look like an idiot sticking your foot under after a min

My X5M did this all the time and it was always while the fob was in my pocket. My X3MC has done it twice so far and both times while fob was in my pocket. The second time it was in my garage and the boot hit my garage door putting two little scratches on it.
