I doubt it, it’s a very very stout motor as you are well aware. Coming back to the BMW world since your MB can’t compete with similar mods 😛
But also JB has ran 10.8’s at 4000+ DA and I haven’t heard problems on that plug and play tune. |

25% increase in power is pretty much the unofficial safe limit for BMW M cars. nothing’s blowing up. at STG 1, the increases are reasonable.
if one wanted to run a tune thats more aggressive, bolt-ons would be necessary (STG2 which PTF recommends for all of their OTS maps anyway). im just glad to see that PTF has already started development on the S58. ive been a fan of theirs since the N54 Cobb days (custom map with Dzenan) and had great experience with their OTS offerings with the S55.

I think that happened because of low fuel, I've seen it before in other current Gx series cars but its hit or miss. Best to ask them on that IG post i didn't notice it until now.

LOL...I always thought you would be the first one to blow up the M40. Mine seemed a little "hurt" when I traded it in. All the sudden, it was a lot slower than it used to be. Maybe too much boost and E85 tuning?

Exactly. The dyno graphs show that the torque below 3,000-3,500 is not improved at all, and the higher peak makes the power delivery less smooth. So may be a benefit for the drag strip, but does not seem helpful for daily driver use.

There is ~1000 lb curb weight difference between the F80/82 and the F97/98. If the G80 gains half a ton over its predecessor, the M division should fold up shop.
