didnt option it on my 23. i had it in my 2020 x3m and it was useless. it only prevented your phone from dying.. did little by ways of actually charging it

only upside... its a nice flat surface to rest my phone on... now i have an awkward pit where my iphone 13pro max doesn't fit into..

I occasionally use mine to connect to the outside antenna if I am in a poor reception area.
Which is rare nowadays.

I ordered 40i w/o charger. I’ll buy something like this (Charger) that have a flat surface and on/off button for 50$

You lose center stack storage space with it.....and the plug charges faster

The wireless charging tray has a battery icon within the phone icon, as well as an LED at the bottom edge to indicate charging status which yours is missing both in your photo.

The wireless symbol outside of the phone icon indicates it has NFC, which in your case works for the Digital Key (Phone NFC Key and BMW NFC Key Card)

Keep in mind in your case, the wireless charger with NFC can be retrofitted as plug and play (no additional wiring required) in your case, since the wiring is exactly the same for the NFC Pad only equipped cars other than missing the cellular booster, which is not required.

Does this mean the X3s missing the wireless charging function will also not have the cellular booster by default?

Just found out about the cellular booster/repeater last night but my wife's M40i definitely doesn't have wireless charging. Just wondering if that definitely means no booster/repeater on her vehicle as well.

It’s actually quite sad that BMW still hasn’t gotten this right for such a long time now.
