Going catless when I was already high flow catted downpipe doesn't make too big of a difference but the explosions from the exhaust are much louder. Will give it more beans this weekend and see.

A few weeks ago I traded in my 2019 X3 30 Mtech for a 2018 M40. I couldn't be happier. I drove out from NJ with a buddy of mine to Enthusiast Auto Group, spent a few hours there, then headed to BMW of West St. Louis. The drive home with the "new car" made me realize what I had been missing out on. We drove through the mountains, went to the 9/11 memorial in PA, and headed home. What an amazing drive. The adaptive suspension is ABSOLUTELY worth it. Then it had a full detail and IGL ceramic coating, 15mm spacers, and BMW roof rails. After that I took it to NJMP and had a blast with it on the track, and even camped in it. All in all I am very happy with this thing and can't wait to do more track days and drives with it. And before you ask.... my track toy is broken, and i'll drive anything on track just for seat time.

Well yesterday really. I went in for my 695's and Pirelli Sottozero 3 Run Flats installed at the dealership. Then had a local chap pick up the 699's he purchased from me.

I recently did two things for my X3: added a calfskin cover to the key fob in an effort to prevent accidental button presses (without adding a lot of bulk); received and test fit new winter shoes.
The key fob cover has embossing for the button icons and this area is slightly "puffy". I don't use the buttons and it's not glaringly obvious, so it doesn't bother me. The bottom is open, which invites dust (clearly) and seems like a likely place for the leather to start wearing. Because the ring goes through the fob and the leather, accessing the physical key would be less convenient. Tire Rack indicated that these 18x8 +35 Andros wheels would fit over my M Sport brakes and they were correct. As you can see, there's easily a finger's width between the brake caliper and the wheel barrel. Quick comparison shot of the OEM 19" wheels and Bridgestone Alenza tires to these 18" wheels wrapped in 225/60R18 Vredestein Wintrac Pro performance winter tires. I don't know much about these tires, but I've read that the brand is fairly old and well known in the Nordic countries, despite being relatively new to the US. Thought I'd give them a shot - if I hate them, I can always get something else later. :-) I'll be installing the full set towards the end of October, which is when several sources indicate that I can reasonably expect freezing weather to start. |

Mounted Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06+ tires in place of the stock Alenza RFTs. I’ll sell the Alenzas come spring time.
Nice sized trunk and back seat came in handy for transporting them

Tinted with XPEL Prime XR Plus
20% front windows to match privacy glass. 70% on the sides and back. 55% on the windshield and moonroof. 15% sun strip. The heat rejection is phenomenal. |

As strange as it sounds, OEM mud flaps do not fit our cars.
I got these ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000024266162.html |
