Has anyone been able to code out the 3 mph speedometer error in their G01? I've been able to do this in my other BMWs (F-series cars), but so far, neither Carly nor Bimmercode offers this option.

LIC_FEATURE_2 to enable, turns the mirror LED turn signals into side-markers so they are on with the headlights.

anyone know how to enable them as welcome lights?

Anyone able to help with locating the Rear Wiper Interval? Bimmercode website says it's in Body Domain Controller. I don't see anything in basic settings, but if I go into Expert Mode, I do see a WiperMaster setting. However once in that set, everything is in German.

hello, on my f40 I have the lever to activate the higb beam system, but when I press the button it tells me that it is an option that can be purchased for 180 euros. I wanted to ask if it is possible to activate with bimmercode. thank you

EXPERT MODE

My German is rusty. Is there a page/site or a manual explaining the hidden features? I feel like Indiana Jones...

This may also apply to your car: for my F40, I go to the main BDC file and select 3080 WipeWashMaster. Find WW_INTERVAL_HECKWISCHER. For my car this is set to 12 seconds, and the drop-down list includes 2,4,6,8 seconds. If one of these isn't what you want you should be able to enter the delay as a Hex value (12=0C). But start by checking that the set value actually corresponds to reality.

Mine had same settings & default was 12. Tried changing it anyway but had no impact on the interval. Guess I'll need to translate the German to English when I have time.
After going thru all the options and translating the German, the one you mentioned translates to interval rear wiper. So you'd think that would be the one. My defaults to 12s and I tried 8s last night; but it still wipes every 2-3s. Not sure what the deal is, but that was the one setting that translated to most logical sense.

Yes, that's what I concluded from the various items. I don't know if it can be changed successfully on my car, as I've never bothered to find out.

Is it possible to change the logo in the cluster when you turn off the machine? NOW displays BMW, but I saw a video on the web where M appears.

I recently purchased a low mile 2019 X3 M40i and there were a lot of changes I wanted to make. I've been searching through the forums and other various sources to try to figure it all out. I'm 99% happy with what I have now and am posting all my changes and learnings below in one place in an effort to possibly help someone else. No guarantees, your mileage my vary but here is what I've done.

2019 BMW X3 M40i. Head unit software version NBTEVO_S

Standard Bimmercode Options
* Acoustical Lock/Unlock - don’t remember what I set it to but I lowered the volume one notch
* Active Cruise Control default distance - “last used”
* Active Sound Design - deactivated (sounds fine with it on for normal driving but sounds horrible if sport/sport plus which is what I normally drive in)
* Alarm - interior motion detection - disabled (just because we have dogs in the car some times)
* Auto start/stop function memory - enabled (keep last setting i had last time I drove)
* Convenient closing - enabled
* convenient closeting with remote - enabled
* idrive start animation - M variant 1
* instrument cluster - i tried Alpina but did not like it
* Default Driving Mode - sport individual
* rain light sensor sensitivity - Insensitive (the bmw wiper sensitivity is way too high by default)
* Automatic mirror tilt - disabled
* seat heating - i don’t remember exact settings but i turned the lowest setting as low as it would go. was too hot even in lowest setting to leave on. highest setting is still highest it can go.
* Seat belt reminders - pretty much disabled everything (partially because we have dogs)
* Camera warning, startup warnings - disabled

Instrument Cluster and Head Unit too dim problem
So I know a lot of folks with dark tinted windows are having problems with the instrument panel and head unit being too dim but even without dark tint, I thought they both were too dim, too often.

For most folks changing DIM_DTN alone will be enough to make you happy.
- Instrument Cluster —> Expert Mode —> 3005 DIM_DTN, original value is 0x3f, setting it to 0x5F give pretty good results, or if you want it even brighter, you can go to 0x7F

I was pretty happy with that, but I wanted the Head Unit to be even brighter (instrument cluster was perfect).

If you change DIM_VARIANT from ’NEW’ to ‘OLD’, you can then go into the idrive settings, and set the brightness manually even during the day. (note: before the option was only ‘brightness at night’. Now it will just say ‘brightness’)
- HeadUnit —> Expert Mode —> 3005 (I think, don’t remember for sure) —> DIM_VARIANT, change from ‘new’ to ‘old’

It might have also required this change as well. Sorry, I don’t remember if I ended up setting this or not
-Instrument cluster - 3000 Anzeige_Konfiguration – DIM_TAG_NACHT_LICHT_EIN_ENABLE – change value to aktiv

Now I have the following:

Daytime - Instrument cluster is nice and bright. I think it still dims a bit with the weather/light but it’s always bright enough now where it wasn’t before. The head unit can be set in idrive settings and stays where you set it. I like it really bright all the time, so this is great for me. If you want it to still dim during the day, set DIM_DTN but not, DIM_VARIANT.

Nightime - everything . . . HUD, instrument panel, head unit dim controlled up/down from the little nob down by the lights.

Full Screen CarPlay

With my version of the headunit software, Bimmercode cannot turn on full screen. I purchased a patch from bimmer-remote and that worked to change CarPlay to full screen. NOTE that once you do this, you can no longer use bimmercode on the headunit module. You can use it on everything else though. If you really need to, you have to unpatch the headunit, make the changes you want with Bimmercode, then re-apply the dimmer-remote patch. I think this is it: https://bimmer-remote.com/products/f...lay-activation

TUNE
I also installed the Stage 1 tune from MHD and tweaked the burbble settings. I couldn't be happier with the change and configurability there. https://mhdtuning.com/products/mhd-s...icense-for-b58

Hopefully this helps someone. I'm in no way an expert but this is my 3rd BMW and being able to tweak each of them to exactly how I've wanted them, has been great.

Oh, one more thing. Do everthing with the ENET cable. It's SOOO much faster than wireless; like Bimmercode changes are pretty much instant, fast.

Does any know if you can dim the angel eyes when the parking lights are on and the ignition is on? Otherwise they appear to be on at full power.

Codeable parameters are listed for each model platform on the Bimmercode.app website. They list headings alphabetically…just find the topic and click on it and you will see all the coding parameters for that topic along with the control module that it is in: https://www.bimmercode.app/cars/g01/

I use Bimmercode on my phone, it has a USB-C port. Is there a cable that would support this port? Alternatively, could I use BimmerCode on my laptop? I thought it was an app.

TIA

Bimmercode is an app - it's only supported on Android or IOS devices.

You're half way there with your ENET cable. Just find an Ethernet to USB adapter to fit your (presumably Android) phone.

I used Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter from Apple. I was having trouble with my phone only connecting for a super short window if at all. Not sure if it was the phone or how they’re locked down from work. Needless to say, got this USB C adapter to work with my iPad and it has worked without issue for both bimmercode and BM3 coding.

I need to revert back to stock coding before my service appointment. Just want to make sure when I do this from my backups, it won't clear the history of codes thrown.

I really love this function, but it is quite annoying to click "A" on a screen each time. If I don't do that, only rear camera view is displayed and no switching between cameras/views is happening.
Is there a chance to code it in a way that "A" (Automatic) camera view is selected by default when putting Reverse?
I would love to have this function enabled...

Kindest regards!

I would also be interested in sorting out how to do this. It’s a pain to have to touch the “A” every time.

Tried to code my new X3 G01 LCI with bimmercode for the first time.
I follow all the instructions for connecting with ENET cable (including setting car in diagnostic mode), however after connection several ECUs were grayed-out (see picture).

Anybody with the same problem on LCI?
Am I doing something wrong?

I'm using bluetooth, but intermittently have the problem on both my X3 and M8. I actually just sent Bimmercode an email tonight asking about it.

They had me send them the logs through the app and then wrote back saying to update the OBDLink adapter firmware using the OBDLink app.

[edit: updating the firmware fixed the problem]
