No disrespect here, but what's to stop them from technically slapping on whatever certification label that they please?

If they can replicate Vossen engraving and etc, then the JWL or VIA is also easy to put on any wheel they choose, no?

Not trying to disprove or invalidate this companies credibility, just am actually curious on if these are certified.

To play devils advocate:

Apex imports their wheels from China as well. Haven't seen a cert from them. How does anyone certify the wheels anyhow?

VIA is a great third party tester but they test up to JWL standard. So nothing special about their testing.

Again, not trying to invalidate anything here, genuinely curious because I am very interested in getting a set of these myself and just want to be sure that they would be safe to drive on.

Not that they'd ever be tracked, but I would have my daughter in the vehicle frequently and would hate to have a mishap. Again, that can happen with any manufacturer but I would like to at least find some kind of information on their forging process at least.

You can ask Ian directly as we are speculating now. I plan to use mine at auto cross or track eventually so we will see how they hold up. Totally understand your concern.

Please do share the review, looking forward to it. Otherwise the wheels have all looked stunning and I’d never be able to tell the difference from photos, outside of the garmany Miss.

Gives me buyer confidence to move forward seeing how no one has yet come back to say something tragic happened.

Though I didn’t get to partake in this one, and being a newer member myself I can appreciate the effort you put in that it took to do this for everyone who got to participate, even if I didn’t get a set this time.

Please do buy OEM wheels and move on

Alignment results

My tires finally arrived and had them installed on my new wheels...pictures coming tomorrow due to rain.

Here are my alignment results and the only thing I question is the steer ahead showing in red. I did not see the alignment results until after I got home.

I’m not certified mechanic but I think the steering wheel may not have been locked straight during the alignment, new wheels should have very little to do with this part of an alignment.

why you getting an alignment after a wheel install? It's not needed unless you had alignment issues before

It's usually advisable to get an alignment after you install new tires. They said their tires arrived.

It's not that it's necessary to get an alignment when installing new tires, but it's a good opportunity to 'start fresh' especially if uneven or abnormal tread wear is identified when removing the old tires. Not to mention, if a set of tires gets you ~20k-30k miles down the road, chances are good (on average) that the car has encountered its share of...erm...American infrastructure follies...to knock at least one wheel off kilter a bit.

if you are changing the size of your wheels and also if the width of the wheel varies by 1”, it is recommended to have an alignment done.

the ride height, wheel size/off set and tire size all play a large role in the vehicle’s suspension geometry

in order to load and proceed with proper alignment specs for any model, you have to input the ride height and wheels size of the vehicle

hunter alignment

to answer your question, your steer ahead should be dead straight (zero’d out) as that is what determines whether the car tracks straight with the steering wheel leveled

Thanks guys for the good detail. It’s always good to learn these things and I appreciate the great feedback!

I guess I will have to get alignment as well going from 19s to 20s.

No, yoi do not. Changing tires inside of certified sizes has zero effect on alignment.

You do not need to get alignment changing wheel sizes or tires. Those two things do not change your alignment. It's a waste of money. As long as your tries are balanced and you didn't have alignment issues before the change you're fine. Don't waste your money

I have two different sets of wheels. The 21" summer X3M wheels and Stock 19" Wheels for the winter. Do you think i'm getting alignment every time I swap those out? No, no one does that

Don't listen to these guys

At the same time it's also advisable to top off blinker fluid and lube up the muffler bearings.

no, i think you’re just a flat earther. my resources were clearly provided. had you actually read the pdf you could probably gain some knowledge and maybe learn a thing or two about speaking on things you know nothing of.

just because you switch out from your 21’s to your 18’s or whatever it is you have and don’t align your car means your cheap and don’t properly maintain your vehicle. has nothing to do with me pushing services to any one. how dumb you sound?!

yea let me upsell an alignment to a bunch of random ppl on a forum. im sure ill get a huge cut! Goofy.
