....be mindful of yourself, but more importantly, who you get into the car with. She was Instagram live streaming as this crash took place. That's how her family knew she was in an accident.
Hope you get some good rest after that shift.

It seems to apply both ways. If one is to be a bit naughty off the track, should be mindful of who's in the car too. (Not meaning DUIs)

Agreed on your latter point.

At least I'm off until Wednesday. Now would be a great time for a good lay. Lol!

The driver bailed out and left his girlfriend in the truck, folded like a taco, but still alive. Both of her legs are being amputated as we speak. She also has a broken arm and other injuries. Despite all of that, she would not tell me nor the fire department who was driving the truck (...although I suspect the registered owner of the truck). I had to give the news to the injured party's sister and mother, who both sobbed uncontrollably. They know of the guy who drives the truck, but they couldn't provide me with a name at the time of my initial contact with them. Suffice it to say, I had a horrible 16 hour shift.

Frick dude - that sucks. I mean, it does suck for her, but I can't imagine she also didn't know who she was with, if he's cartel related. But it really sucks for her family and everyone who witnessed it too.

Honestly, its things like this that makes me think that a little operation that takes justice in its own hands off the books like the whole Swordfish idea with the terrorists. Honestly though, it comes down to me losing faith with the judges and the so called justice system. I think police try to do their job, but I think judges do not and allow too many technicalities to trump the overall picture - guilty or not.

I was on a fatal where the driver was on FaceTime when she collided with a tree. All of the friends and family showed up on scene since they knew where she was (thanks Facebook scanner groups &#128580. It was a disaster.

Yeah, and they just make the scene worst. I had that problem on my scene last night, but it was a bunch of people too worried about putting the crash on the internet than the young woman's safety.

Welcome to the thread BTW!

So this takes it back a few days where we were going back and forth about gallows humour. I have all the time in the world for actual victims, so many aren't.

We had an expression, "when you lay down with dogs you get fleas"......

The hang nails and paper cuts crowd will never get it. When there's an event in a community, they'll dispatch a whole bunch of counsellors to deal with the trauma. " Look at me, I'm embracing someone on camera".

In the meantime, you don't see the same type of coverage of First Responders, soaked in blood and guts trying to put people together.

So, yes...Gallows humor saves a lot of us from spending $200/hour to deal issues with a Shrink. We still have to go to work the next day.

Yeah but we have to wear a mask.

I could tell you stories, but I don't need to. You get it. Sedan_Clan get's it.

We all have a few days that we wish we could forget. Some of mine are a very long time ago and yet they are still fresh....not in a good way. Sometimes I wish I never had a sense of smell.

So I'm old enough to have had a 35mm camera and the film canister was great to keep Vicks in, always in my brief case and coat pocket.

Also burned coffee beans on a stove burner and cheap cigars in a pinch. My first divorce lawyer told me a lay's a lay but a good cigar's a smoke....might be the rum talking.
