Thanks! I must admit I do still stop, look and smile!
I have attached a picture of the gravel. It is quite large and also quite loose. But you don't expect to pay that much for a car and stones get stuck in it all the time. I have turned the car round now so that the dodgy wheel isnt on the gravel too much. I could tarmac it but again expensive fix for something that shouldn't happen.
I'm just confused as to why it keeps happening.
yes I used to drive crv's and loved them but my X3 is just a whole new ball game. a stunning car.

I have the same type of gravel in my drive and the same wheels as you and have no issues thus far.

Is the gravel new? Maybe it just need to be driven on to "seat" itself better.

No gravel has been there for years. So should be pretty bedded in.
I just can't believe it keeps happening. As I said never happens to any other car on the drive.

After you pull in, turn the wheel so you can see the tire tread easily. Peek at the rear tires. Are there stones caught in the tread? More likely than the wheels, the tire tread is picking up and tossing the gravel pieces around. See if any are still trapped. This may just happen to be a different tread pattern than your previous tires and sized coincidentally that "fits" that gravel.

Try pushing the thin metal heat shield behind the brake outward (toward the engine) slightly, so the stones don't get stuck in there, worked on a similar car a few years ago.

No. It just seems to trigger A LOT. Like, anything close to ALEXA causes it to wake up. Much more sensitive than my Echo in the house.

Strange. I have no such issue in my X3. Alexa only wakes up when I say, "Alexa!".

I have a stupid question.

If I purchase a pre-owned vehicle at BMW, say for instance a 2019 X3 (was built late 2018) so the original factory warranty is over, it has $47K miles. I fully understand that if your the original owner of the vehicle you can extend the warranty up to 7 yrs. BUT if the warranty is already expired and your the 2nd owner (like in this case where I am finding a 2019 pre-owned and factory warranty is over)

I know BMW won’t certify a 2019 that the original factory warranty has expired.

But can BMW offer you any extended warranty on a 2019? OR would BMW sell a 2019 pre-owned AS IS/no warranty and the customer would have to find and buy a 3rd party warranty?

I don't think BMW will help but if the original owner had purchased an extended warranty, I think that can be transferred to the new owner for the balance of the contract. This should be possible via private sale but not sure how dealers handle a prior extended warrranty purchase.

Thanks, that’s what I thought.

Just got my 2023 X3 and i have a question regarding the Microsoft Teams app within Carplay. So the calendar and meetings are there, but when i join a meeting, i cannot see the participants and the content. Is there any way i can share my Iphone screen on the Idrive screen and actually see the content and participants in the meeting?

I don't think it's that advanced... I've taken a call on teams thru the app in carplay before and I think it just works like a simple conference call app.

Maybe a safety angle as well in that Apple doesn’t want driver distraction with live video content.

it's definitely a safety angle... they wouldn't allow a live video stream nor checking who's in the call etc...

Can anyone tell me when did BMW offer Full Screen Apple CarPlay?
Was it on builds after Sept 2019 (which would be a My20 vehicle) with drive 7

OR did full screen apple car play come in 2021?
Speaking of factory from dealer.

100% I just bought a 2018 from a BMW dealership with 28k miles. I purchased a bmw extended exclusionary policy $100 deductible, 5yrs 60k for $3,500. All bmw dealerships will do this and you must negotiate! Their starting offer was 5k!

My rear washer fluid leaks constantly. I don't even use it. Anyone else have this problem? I'm looking for a simple fix. Not going to the stealership just for this.
