Thats sounds too soon to me, i placed order 1st October and mine isnt being built until week 4 January 2014, allowing time to build, ship across the sea and dealer prep and valet it should be with me beginning of March.

I got mine in 7 weeks from order, so two months is perfectly achievable. Just depends what the Dealers have had booked into the BMW ordering system.

Delivery dates re
My 6 month old X3 was written off in an accident in September. Luckily I had GAP insurance so getting new replacement which was ordered towards end of October, with delivery beginning of March. Interested to hear further details of those with similar order dates, whose delivery has come forward because of LCI cancellations. My dealer adamant that date is fixed, but do wonder about dealer incentives on sales figures for new registrations on March 1st. Grateful for dealer names etc.

Just my two cents worth from across the pond...
It may depend on how many vehicles any particular dealer sells. I went to one dealer in my area and he told me two months. I then went to the biggest dealer in the SE states and he was able to get one that went into production in 4 days (completed in 7 days after I ordered it). This dealer had more slots from the factory so they were able to take one of their next builds and change it to my specs before the "deadline." If your dealer had one due for production in two weeks and that customer cancelled, the dealer can still take delivery and sell it on the lot. Then they can also pull that one in for somebody further down the list, change the specs and now they have a happy customer, and they don't lose the revenue from the cancellation. Make sense? These dealers are constantly receiving new cars. Some for the lot, and some for custom orders. If they have enough inventory on its way, they can really work with their custom orders and give better dates.

Mine won't be seen by the dealer until 28th April (I ordered it in early November). A very frustrating wait, especially since I was told before purchasing that it would arrive in February / March.
It looks like I am in for a long wait, but not long enough to get the LCI. |

Hi... I'm new on this forum as I've been over on the F30 UK area for a while. I've been looking at an X3 for the new family car and I've got a bit of a dilemma about if to order now or wait for the LCI. I've been given a really good deal on a 35d. On a PCP it's only working out £10 more than a 20D!
If the LCI build was from the beginning of april onwards, I could probably hold off, but if it was closer to the summer, I might not get the deal. There seems to be some contradicting info on the release of the LCI as it is to be unveiled at the NY auto show in April. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Ian

If they start building in April, delivery is anything from 3 - 5 months from time of order so you are looking down the barrel of a September delivery, that is quite a wait. Has the Dealer given you any indication of the LCI delivery dates? mine is just a guess. The LCI updates are in my opinion fairly minor and the engines are the same. I have a 35D, delivered end of Nov 13 and believe me, its all about the engine, it is stonking! I guess it depends on how much you want that extra power. Have you had a test drive yet? If you get the chance, try both, I think this would certainly help you decide. Cheers. GAJA |

Seems the waiting time has increased, mine was 3 months exactly from ordering to delivery! (I was advised 4 months) It will be worth the wait though...

It will be a fairly light spec as it's meant to be the second car, so probably heated seats, sun glass, toe bar and either Xenon's or 19's. Should be a cracking family car!

Mine was ordered in late September for January delivery but arrived middle of November due to dealer reallocating build slots. Rather have a free professional nav system than LCI lights and cosmetic changes any day |

Build quotas?
That makes me wonder if dealers have some quotas of build slots, say, per month, and one dealer would have used all their slots for a given month while the other would still have one or two free? In other words is it possible that I can get different delivery time for the same model from two different dealers but located in the same city?
