New for me x3

picked up a 13 x3 and got a great deal. New tires, roters, calipers, shocks, struts and best of all a brand new motor right out of the crate. All that for 14,000.00 thank you South Shore BMW in Rockland Ma. I put in froward facing camera, back up camera, phone mirroring device and custom made sheep skin seat covers, the fit is excellent. I have also re coded the car with some nice adjustments like, being able to close all windows and sun roof with the remote as well as the rear hatch. Its pretty nice not having to run out to close up the car if it starts to rain, i can do it from inside the house. Other coding items, turned down the temp of the seat warmers and changed some lighting settings. All in all I am very happy with my new ride. I get to put my beautiful e36 convertible away for the winter.

Congratulations; got my '14 35i last summer. Also added back-up camera, remote starter, and blind spot warning system. Love the additions!!!

Very nice ride! Does it lower than stock height?
I noted you have e83 wheels. Are they direct fit?

Yes but it’s very modest, maybe 0.75 to 1.0”

Fronts require 10-12mm spacers but I just slapped 15’s on all 4 corners to even out stance.

Over the holidays I got 15% tint on the windows, installed glossy black grills and hand polished it followed by Maguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax.

Washed, clay bar, polish, and wax. Took me over 4 hours. Used DA polisher for the polish and wax application. Sorry about the crappy exposure in the pics.

The headlights had a very slight haze to them so I used the polisher and polishing compound on them too and the haze is gone now. Driver's side light hasn't been done yet in the pics. Passenger side is after.

I did my vacuum pump and boost solenoid today. The vacuum canister and boost solenoid had oil in it and caused wastegate actuator not working properly everything went smooth no more oil in vacuum canister

Is this a known issue? Which engine? What are the symptoms?

I have N20 engine with pneumatic wastegate if you have electronic wastegate then it won't effect you. To check if you have this issue unplug two vacuum line connected to engine cover and see if there is oil in it.

I'm not much of a cosmetic detail kinda guy, but I popped the hood and wiped off my motor cover and some painted frame areas, used a brush to dust off the other components- motor looks decent at 78K miles

Quite recently replaced both valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets, they were just beginning to seep oil.

Is your oil cooler leaking? I had oil cooler housing gasket seeping oil and dealer charger 1K for replacement a year ago, I had that gasket warranty by dealer twice and it's still leaking.

zero oil cooler leakage; it and OFHG were PM repairs, there was only VERY minor seepage at OFH gasket, I mean next to nothing.

Not hard at all! I did read a couple places that it's better for the initial application if you do it on a dry car rather than a wet car like the instructions said to. After that you just spray down the car while it's wet after a wash then use a pressure washer to spray it off and it refreshes the coating. I think you only need to do that once every three to six months or something like that. I'd say the stuff is about as close to idiot proof as you get. So far I'm pleased with it.

Put on some black "flowing" LED side markers. I also put the black kidney grills on recently. Had the car for a little over four months and I love it so far!

Nice. Any advice on how to get those damn things off!

I’ve tried and it’s a No-Go!
