Just purchased a 22' x3 M40 and trying to get a winter set. Is the 22' bolt pattern and offset the same for 2021 and prior?

ShopBMW doesn't not show a 19' square set for 2022 but does have it for 2021. Just wanted to make sure before making the purchase.

I have a stupid question (sorry)…but decided it may work in this thread
I've recently purchased a damaged x3 m40i to repair, and I am looking for the previous owner to ask about carbon trims on the car. I am wondering if you have ever seen him on this forum ...
it's a 2018 white car with HF-5 vossens and some carbon on it, serviced in Peter Pan San Mateo

Oh yeah! That’s BimGuy69. He shows up the second and third Thursday of every fifth month. Don’t ask him about carbon trims, though. He had a relative killed by carbon trims and he gets angry.

You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.

Thanks for sharing, glad it works for you. In theory if all drivers drove sufficiently, then no need for tender chargers, of course needed when storing car. Some new condo's are charging appx $8k for an EV charging option.

No. The OP was considering a 2019 X6 with iDrive 6 over one with 7.

Right, but you had said that you would hold out for a 2020 with iDrive 7 to get remote start, RSU, and other SP18 features.

I don't think that Remote Start is available for a 2020 car. Pre LCI cars have SP15. At least according to freshxdough.

https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showt...t=remote+start

I don't know if SP15 cars can even get remote software upgrades.

Haven't had the car for a week yet but I'm learning things!

Learned how to reboot the iDrive and reorder Apps. Now, is there a way to reorder the media options? I did see how you can add and remove by personalizing but I don't see anyway to reorder them and say bring CarPlay or Spotify higher up.

245/50/R19 square set from x3 2018 fits your new lovely car.

The 2019+ G05 and 2020+ G06 are SP18 vehicles.

Oh, lol. I didn’t even realize he typed X6. That had to be a mistake, right? Why would he be asking about the X6 in the X3/4 forum?

Yes, I just had the 19” 691’s put on for winter. BMW just hasn’t updated their website yet for the 22’s.

Thank you so much.
Just gave a call to my dealership earlier this morning and they have no clue.

I spoke with my main dealer and another and neither would work with me on the 691 set. They both "didn't want to risk it." I finally got tired of it and ordered a package from Tire Rack with a square set of 19" Sottozerro 3s and Sparco DRS wheels which my local German car specialist installed for me.

The tires are the same I would have gotten in the 691 set. The Sparco wheels are acceptable, but I am a pretty OEM kind of guy and I do feel a little twinge every time I go out to get in the car! I will get through the winter with them and then maybe sell them to pick up the BMW wheels for next year.

Stupid question time! I am getting the CAA dongle (plugs into ODB port) to get an insurance discount but I read in the manual that the alarm will go off when locking the car if there's a device in the ODB port. Anyone have this problem and/or know a way around it? I found some older threads on other BMW's that could be worked around with a Bimmercode mod but I don't know if I want to wade into those (or if anyone's figured this out for a current series X3).

I just tried it in my 2022 (USA spec) with my OBDLink CX adapter and no alarm went off

Interesting, thanks for checking. I guess I just wait for the CAA device to arrive and try it out. Seems like bimmercode might be the way around it - at the cost of a $30 dongle and a CAD$60 app though Fingers crossed..

For anyone that is curious I think I may have fixed this. From doing a bit of googling it seems like this is definitely an issue and not made up in my head. I had to turn on location services for one of the system services on my phone to get it to start working. Dark mode now engages properly at night.

I had 691 transferred from 2018 to 2022. My dealer had BMW chart showing which wheels from F25 that would fit M40i G01, 19 and 20 do, whereas the 18 do not. Strange your dealers would not work with you. You should be ok, as my tire guy has seen cracked BMW wheels.

I have a 2018 M40i. Have had it about 3 weeks and to this day I still refuse to believe there's no "next song" buttons anywhere on the steering wheel or on the the dash.

I know it seems like a minor inconvenience, but all of my prior vehicles dating back to like 2010 have had volume and song skip buttons on the steering wheel.

I dont even see a skip button where all the presets are on the center dash.

All I've been using is the i drive knob, which does work but it's like a 2 or 3 step process to skip a song.

Please tell me I'm just blind and haven't found the button yet.

My 2021 M40i has volume up/down and track forward/backward buttons. Along with the scrollwheel for more options.

What shocks me is no pause button nor mute button on the steering wheel.

I can’t find Drive Recorder on the build it now. It use to be an option where if your in an accident the cameras record video before and after impact. I think it was like a $500 option. Is it part of the standard features now?
