That is interesting... the US tag on it is surprising as well. Why would they develop an M engine specifically for the US?

That was initial rumor..
This tri-turbo is going to be a nightmare to repair and train mechanics for. I'd sit oiut first 2 years of it's production to see how reliable the engine is.. For sure it will be a monster in power and torque.. |

Exactly. Maybe we could add six computers to better control "emissions" as well. Who in their right mind is going to buy something this complex, likely to fail, and be a nightmare out of warranty?

Unless BMW will let me buy a diesel with the M Sport package, this would be the winner.

I have been waiting for BMW to build a real M class version since I got my first X3 in 07. I recently saw the RS3 Audi at their website and can't believe they wont offer that here in the US.
At least with this we can have a daily driver that will beat the snot off the wise azz kid down the street with the modded rice burner. I can say I will be first in line when they deliver one of these to any dealer with 50 miles of my house. Hopefully they will be smart and reinitiate offering this X3 with a MT. |

It is kind of pathetic the whole aspect of global warming. We have politicians that think Global warming exist; when in reality our government is funneling money to a bunch of, shall I call them thieves/idiots that lobbies for more laws, rules, and regulation. |

I say it will be a V6, and that was my very initial thought, other than dreaming of DI S65. The V6 will not only be good for lowering costs but also for BUZZ, smething that BMW likes very much. Remember the M3 E92 rumoured to get a V8? Now it is eaven more, a V6. BMW will just prove that they can also build V6. BMW M broke there Religion, M SUV, M Automatic, M AWD, and now M V6. Let it continue to M Diesel. This is what BMW wants. For this very reason they'll put a V6.
We are going to say: "BMW failed." When we'll test drive the car we'll say: "I never thought it was possible, this is the best car the world has ever seen (after the M3 EVO E30 LOL)." |
