West Coast US: Timing from factory to dealer?
My car finished production yesterday, according to the 800 number. Today the website shows "at preparation center".
I called my dealer for an estimate of timing, and I was told 2-3 weeks. That doesn't seem to sound right given what I've read here (and I was getting a pretty high reading on the BS meter throughout the call, but that's another story). West Coasters, and specifically those in the Bay Area: What have you seen on timing? |

Delivery times
Just picked up our new X5. From end of production to oxnard was 13 days on the train, they quoted 15. Sat in oxnard 9 days before delivery to Sacramento. Hope it helps.

Mine finished production last Friday.
It’s still waiting for a truck, so it’s collecting dust in SC. I think a lot depends on how many are shipping to your area. They wait for a full load and then start shipping. |

Mine is done tomorrow and will be coming to Western Michigan so maybe it'll be on your same truck!

Thanks to all that responded. That seems like a long time - I don't recall that it took much longer than that for my M3 from Bremerhaven to Oxnard!
At least I can occupy myself with the build video I got this morning. Just in case there aren't yet too many images of Vermillion MSport: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...berid=50958354 Looks almost Candy Apple red under those lights. |

If you say it takes 15 days or so to get to Portland, I wonder if there is any chance I'll get my X3 sooner than the CA told me or not. Or is that 15 buisness days? |

I live 3-4 hrs from Oxnard. My production completion was April 18th. Still no car. Was due in Oxnard the 5th of May. I called the CA on the 5th for update. Guess what, he's gone. Quit, fired who knows. Spoke with sales manager and he was going to call me with update today. Guess what, no call. If nothing this week, car shopping this weekend.

I talked with a co-worker of mine who recently bought an X5. He said it took at least 2 weeks from the time it was shipped out to get it to the Seattle area.
He said his X5 went by train from Spartanburg all the way to somewhere in California where it was taken off, detailed and prep'd etc for a couple days, then put on a truck and shipped the rest of the way to the dealer. So the Bay Area delivery is probably a few days faster than up north... I was thinking that I might get my X3 next week since it shipped out on May 12th, but it might even be longer if the X3 goes through the the same process. |
