I've seen a few threads talking about this and was wondering if they've happened to change the trim optioning. My April US price sheet still says you can only get aluminum or wood for the 28i with the premium package (ZPP).

Yes it does say NA/NC for 28i, so that doesn't sound like a good news to flash3 and many others who love to have this option but either little tight on the budget for prem. package or don't care for the options that comes with perm. package, anyways it doesn't hurt to try asking the dealer. I think we will all know the real version of this tomorrow when flash3 places his order. Keep us posted on this. Thx.

Finalized my order today and the build is as is on the 1st page. The only issue we came across was adding the Brushed Alum trim as right now it's not allowing the system to add the BA Trim w/o the Prem Pkg, unlike yesterday where any trim was available.
I'll know more Monday. |

@flash3: congrats, don't take no as answer from the dealer, ask him to check with the plant itself. If nothing works then ask him to offer an installation of the trim in the dealership itself before you take the delivery, you can purchase the trim as a part. Good luck.

I am still not sure why BMW do not allow other trims om 28i, may be that is the only way for them to force the customer to buy the premium package.

Hey Jay, I picked up my 28i yesterday and have the silver matte trim. I was worried about not liking it, but I actually to like it. I have an all black interior with the silver matte and am very happy. The drive is amazing. Put 70 miles on yesterday, and can't wait to drive it today!

Got a call from my CA this week and said that the Brush Alum trim cannot be added w/o the prem pkg, and I have to go with the standard silver matte trim.
The site was going through some issues on Friday. Ugh! |

Don't worry flash. I love the silver matte after worrying that I would not. |

Personally if I am in your situation, I will go for premium, just for so many reasons...one being, I am not sure if I will be able to buy another BMW in my life and everytime I see that trim, I will feel bad about me not being able to afford to a trim that I loved....anyways check out and update us. |

I'll say 10 days. Maybe less, as it doesn't have to be loaded onto so many transport carriers. Load on to the truck at the factory, off load at the dealer.

Yeah, I'd say 7-10 days sounds about right. Better than the 3 weeks I had to wait.

Just checked online and it says my car is @ At Preparation Center
What does that mean in terms of delivery and also how do i know if nothing was left off given all of the Japan issues with parts/delays? |
