X3 deals anywhere?
Has anyone that has ordered a new X3 been able to get much of a discount on the MSRP? The dealers in Denver have been pretty proud of their prices. The best deal that I received was going through the Costco auto buying program. Any hints would be appreciated!

I got $1250 over invoice. The salesman laughed at me. He said "it's a new model...we don't have any on the showroom floor and you are ordering!" I told him to go talk to his sales manager and the sales manager took it.
As you said, use a car buying service such as USAA or CostCo. I'm not sure, given the new model, if you can do better than the car buying service prices.

Wow, I just checked the AMEX pricing and they and Costco are $1400 and $1500 over invoice which came to about $2200 below MSRP. How did you get $3500 off? That's a great price!

Negotiated over phone yesterday. Tried $500 over invoice quoting American Express Car buying service.
Dealer came back with "We are the biggest dealer in the Northeast. We had our best month ever in December.." etc ... I said "that's great. Good for you. Now do you want to sell a car today over the phone in 5 minutes? I have my credit card in hand." He also gave me the "i can order the car and put it on the floor and sell it for much more than that." And the best one: "These cars will be hot for 4 or 5 years..." Best he was willing to do yesterday was $1,000 or so off sticker and I was willing to go $1000 or so over invoice, so we a bit apart. Will call other dealers today but there aren't many in my area. |

Already ordered a new X3, then discovered that BofA has a car buying service. By going through the BofA website there is a dealer ~200 miles away quoting ~$3000+ off MSRP. I'm going to contact the dealer from which I ordered the X3 to see if they will match the price. Stay tuned...

I just priced out the specs I want on the Bofa website and it came up as $2275 below MSRP. Did your guy go above and beyond that price? It seems to be the same pricing on Costco and AMEX.

I ordered on Dec 23rd and used the Amex pricing (the lowest priced dealership was the closest to me). Price was $400 above invoice, but also have to pay $400 processing fee. I just went back to the amex site and noticed that the same dealer is now at $800 above invoice so looks like things are headed in the wrong direction.

So Seattle dealer claims it doesn't apply because the fine print says "on in stock vehicles only".
Tried to get a hard quote (email) from Fife dealer and he just ignores me. Going to try the Portland dealership next. I'm not giving up. |
