F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali doesn't see the battery-related increase in overtaking as artificial.





Domenicali on the new 2026 regulations:

"I see an incredible result in terms of the positivity shown by most of the fans regarding the effect that has on the races. I certainly accept the criticism related to certain situations we have to manage, mainly concerning qualifying"

"Qualifying has always been the moment when the driver has to give it their all and see what the real physical limits of the car and the driver are. You should do like me, "vote" with your wallet! I didn't pay them a single dime since they introduced the terrible V6 Formula, now 12 years ago. They still haven't given me the N/A engine I want, but I opened my wallet for the first time in 12 years, giving this new formula a shot since they killed DRS, made the cars smaller, and introduced overtaking.

It's still early days, let's see if the formula gets tweaked.
