I found this on Amazon and it has made it easier for me to torque the oil filter cap without changing to a torque wrench. I know its not that hard to bust out a torque ratchet but I'm lazy sometimes...lol.

Super easy to install and I just bought a SIM card for unlimited data. Plug and play, your phone still connected to the car and you can easily toggle between iDrive7, AppleCarPlay, Android Auto, plus the OS provided by the box.

With this box, you can literally download almost all the popular entertainment apps from Google Store, ESPN, Disney +, Netflix, etc. And they all work with touch screen and controller!

I know not everyone is into car entertainment but if you're, don't miss this one lol

May I ask where you got your SIM card from?

I use boost mobile! Pretty easy to manage from it's app and I think it's reasonably priced.

12V Dual USB Quick Charge 3.0 Port Voltmeter

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX9CNCJJ

Image of it installed isn't showing up, maybe because I'm too new here.

So here is the direct link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Q4c4M2bg2dFb99gn9

I wanted the voltmeter to keep an eye on the battery state of charge, as this is not a daily driver. Also the Quick Charge USB ports, as I will likely add a wireless charging pad. I already had a lighter socket plugin voltmeter / USB gadget but it protruded too far to allow the cup-holder cover to close. While there are very compact USB Quick Charge plugin adapters, I found none with a voltmeter. So I decided to go this route.

It required a lot more work to install than I anticipated, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing it unless adding both these features is pretty important to you.

The primary issue is that it's larger than the factory lighter socket, so some material must be removed under the cup holder deck to get the replacement to fit. Fairly straightforward and not too time consuming using a Dremel and a round file. Though, unfortunately, first the cup-holder assembly must be totally removed, which requires disconnecting and un-routing, not only the lighter socket power, but also the LED lighting and USB cables. If later you ever want to put back a factory lighter socket you would need to either add some plastic back, using maybe epoxy putty or high temp hot glue (and will still likely need to glue in the socket, as you're not going to be able to precisely recreate the original design dimensions to get it to latch in as designed), or else buy a replacement cup holder assembly.

Another challenge was actually removing the lighter socket from the cup-holder assembly. After much searching I never did find instructions how to remove it the correct way, so I forced it, damaging it beyond usefulness. But since I needed to cut off it's power cable and modify that to properly connect the new item to the wiring harness, damaging it was not really a concern. A new replacement (61349473608), is around $20.

Amazon Basics Wireless Fast Charge

So, following up on my previous post, I installed a wireless charger.

Direct photo link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/63v63xFGYzeTagak7

Instead of one the several rectangular chargers listed on Amazon, which look nice, but none of which I found to have particularly encouraging customer reviews, I went with the round Amazon Basic charger that features generally more positive reviews.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0872RLX6Z

It fits in the cup-holder phone compartment, with clearance for my Pixel 8 phone, but does require some help to align the phone over the charger, which, for the time being, I am doing with some rigid black foam.

Both the charger and foam bolsters are held in place with fiberglass carpet tape, which is the thinnest double-side tape I'm aware of. It doesn't have very strong grip, but is sufficient for this light duty and is relatively easy to remove.

To connect to the Quick Charge USB outlet / voltmeter I mentioned in the previous post, I used this:

Right angle USB A to USB C adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PSCL9FC

Also this USB C to USB C right angle cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6BLQJ8B

So far results are very positive. The phone charges instantly, without excessive heat, and the cup-holder cover can be closed over the phone and cable if desired.
