Sensatec Repair

I noticed some tears developing on the drivers seat.
See pics below. Any recommendations on how to either repair
it or putting something there to stop further damage?
Thanks

Question is - do you have the stones to get the blowtorch out?

Personally I'd seek a pro to repair it. A pro with some rep :-)

Usually a good detail shop has the ability to fix something like this at a reasonable cost.

Could just use a heat gun instead - he didn't really do any intense torching in that video.

Maybe it's hard to mess up but I think my problems would lie in the airbrushing part.

I think you can use a foam brush to apply the paint.

Tangential, but did sensatec seats not have perforations in this model year?

I think the preforated seats are only for the ventilated seats.

Sooo....I did a little bit of research and got some quotes. Quotes ranged from $200 to $900 to repair. The website that sells the repair kits used in the you tube video can be found here:

https://www.classicdyeproducts.com/b...nterior-colors

However I decided to just use leather/vinyl repair tape:

ONine Leather Repair tape:
https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Self-...07QX9SKN8&th=1

Given the location of my tear, it would just be a matter of time before it would tear again, due to the stresses on it entering/leaving the car. What it needed was reinforcement, which is what the tape will do. It doesnt look too bad in my opinion, and as long as the tape will prevent any further tearing, Im satisfied with it.

If you can live with it LOL :-)

But here's the thing - if you level the tape to be parallel to the seat (it's at a bit of an agle) AND put one at the other side in the same place - it will look like a "thing". Even better if you do the other seat. THen people will think it's some super cool upgrade :->
