Newly Purchased 2018 X3 - A Few Questions...

Hello! I just purchased of a 2018 BMW X3 last week and have been looking all over the Internet to learn more about the maintenance and the car overall.

One question I have is that there are ZDA (Driving Assistance Package) and 5AS (Active Driving Assistant) listed on my vehicle (See attached). What are the differences? Do I have the front collision prevention braking by any chance? I don't think I do because in the 100 miles I put on the car so far I have not received any related warning.

Are there features on the list more notable or missing? I do wish the car came with walk-away locking.

Lastly, I don't see a lot of discussion on is how Auto Start Stop could shorten the life of engine mount. I'd think the engine shake during the process would kill the mounts prematurely.

Not to sure about the assistant packages but the Auto Start Stop can be coded out with BimmerCode. I coded mine to always start in Sport Individual with Comfort settings on the steering & transmission through the Idrive settings . With mine before coding the ASS off I Just thought it would beat down the starter and battery. Even though I do have a separate battery in the front for those functions.

Timing chain and guides also take a hit from constant ASS.

First thing I did after buying ours was to code out the ASS using Carly. Very easy.

... mind to jump in... another way round it, may just want to push sideways gear shifter to M/S, still runs in matic, S mode shift, ASS auto off too
... what is coding?🤭

0zda... deactivate adaptive suspension with fixed damping rate... whilst 05AS... enable adaptive suspension ... heeyy you have got yourself best of both worlds, i pressume🤔

... may want to check via id settings drive mode, whether chassis/steering can be adjusted or not

The steering setting can change between Comfort and Sport. And of course, the engine and transmission can change and have more modes too.

S mode shift makes engine rev alot. I might as well just press the Auto Start Stop button to turn it off before each drive.

I just received a collision warning while driving on the highway today. Is there a range of mph for it to work? Strange I have followed cars closer on occasion but not been warned. Presumably, this means I have emergency braking too?

Emergency braking is region-specific. I see

Btw, is the accident and roadside assistance available from BMW app free of charge? If so, I might as well remove such coverage from my insurance policy.

Probably not a bad idea to keep both, mine is only $5.00 a month and I still have AAA too . lol

I believe that's only available (or at least free) while you're under warranty
