2008 X3 xDrive vibration on acceleration
Car vibrated violently under power at 35mph. Recon was done on driveshaft which solved the issue. I however now have a different vibration between 20 and 25mph which repeats at about 40 to 50mph - only on acceleration.
I balanced the tires with no improvement. The rear tires were 0.5 bar harder than the fronts after some towing, when I did a tire rotation. So I ended up with the front tires at 2.7 bar and the rears at 2.2 bar. The vibration was gone. As soon as I deflate the front tires back to 2.2 bar, so I have the same pressure on all 4 corners, the vibration comes back. Anyone with suggestions on what can be causing this? All 4 tires are regularly rotated and I fitted them about 15,000 miles ago. |

That's an odd behaviour. What did you end up doing?

I had a leak in the nipple of the rear right wheel, which leads to heating of the brake caliper and longitudinal vibration of the entire car. It is possible that at this point the frequency of braking by the DSC system increases, otherwise it is premature to draw premature conclusions...
