Will X1 or X5 wheels fit directly to F25?
I am planning to get a set of winter wheels and tires. Don't care the look. Wonder anyone know if X1 or X5 wheels fit our X3. I always find used X5 wheel pretty cheap

Exactly right. Center bore diameter and offset are critical dimensions, and then of course width which is more obvious.
I was thinking it was the older not newer X5's that had the 74.something center bores but am not sure, indeed that needs to be looked up to be sure by anyone considering those wheels. I think you're going to find that your easiest, and generally not very expensive options will be from a place like Tire Rack, you'll get something reasonably decent looking, can be sure of the fitment, and can even get tires and etc. already on them. TPMS too if wanted. X5 could work but you'll have to find the "Style" number and do some research. Find and post up some dimensions and we can tell you yay or nay if you aren't sure. |

My set of winter tires use Style 130 wheels from the first generation (E53) X5. The bore, offset and lug pattern are the same OEM wheels on my F25. These wheels are very cheap on used market and perfect for winter driving. They are 17" x 7.5" and my tires are General 225/50 x 17. The narrower profile is ideal for deep snow and the ride is much better than the 18's. Granted they are not as cool as the current trend toward 19 and 20-inch wheel/tire combinations, but they work great on the roads I get living in a snow belt.

2016+ X1 wheels will not fit for X3 bc X1 wheels are 5x112, while X3 wheel pattern is 5x120

Lots of different variables come into play, therefore it is best to get as much information as you can beforehand: 1) center bore 2) bolt pattern 3) a) offset b) wheel width c) tire size/ratio Everything is important. The newest generation X5's have a smaller center bore than our F25 X3's, so they will not fit. The current gen X1's are based off the front wheel drive Mini platform so per earlier post, they probably have a different bolt pattern. Our X3's have 5x120 bolt patterns, which I believe majority are 5x120. I believe the first two generation X5's have the same center bore. Would definitely research that as well. If they are bigger, you can always buy an adapter/sleeve but if they are smaller, you're out of luck. Lastly, part 3 is pretty difficult....general rule of thumb is, if you have a wider wheel, you'll need a lower offset for the wheel to clear and not rub anything. A way around that would be to buy a narrower tire and "stretch" it onto the rim...more common with the "hella flush, stanced" crowd. Or to buy spacers. But again, this is just a rule of thumb and not always the case. My personal experience: I have the M Sport wheels, which are 245/45r19 but I bought a set of X5 wheels that are running 255/55r18. They barely fit, just a couple of MM away from rubbing part of the strut and they will rub the fender liner when reversing on full wheel lock. I wouldn't have this issue if I was running a smaller ratio tire or narrower tire or running spacers (which I personally don't recommend). Hope this helps! with a center hub bore adapter you can run x5\x6 rims. I currently have a full set of 214 style rims on my x3 with edc. Lots of rim options out there for you.

I just sold my X5 M Sport 19” wheels to a guy that owns a 2011 X3 X Drive 28i. I was able to test fit the front tire. My wheel bore is 74.1 and I believe this X3 is 72.56. We were able to get it on the front wheel and it did run the fender lining at full lock turn. I would think that using a small spacer (10mm to 15mm that also adapts the hub center ring) is the right move here, correct?

I stopped updating this chart when the G chassis models started debuting and had a 5x112mm wheel bolt pattern and 66.6 mm wheel hub:

Looking for a new set of wheels and tires because my current tires are done and looking to switch it up, does anyone know if this set will work? I have a non msport 2016.
I currently have 245/50/18 stock winter package wheels. I do not want to buy new tires for the wheels below. And will I need to install lowering springs to get rid of a future gap? |
