if just idling with a catless dp, they probably wouldn't know... if you romp on it, you might...

Edit: 85 decibles isn't very loud. You can do that on a stock exhaust and stock cat by being in sport mode with the valve open. Guess I can't go into NYC with either of my vehicles. I'm okay with that.

Born and raised in SoCal and the only reason people live there is because the climate and topography. You cannot beat having an ocean, desert and snow capped mountains all within 2hrs drive. Coupled with good food and big city entertainment (pro sports, festivals, etc.) it’s pretty attractive for the right person.

What you consider good noise may not appeal to your neighbor. I live in a state where police turn a deaf ear to car, motorcycle and truck noise and it's out of control, especially in summer. What's with immature drivers of all ages that want their vehicle to say, "Hey, look at me! I'm cool cuz my bike, car, truck makes a lot of noise!" Grow up.

I would absolutely go ballistic if I got one of those tickets for my car’s stock exhaust… as in like, quit my job, sell my home, and move out of that state type ballistic.

I agree. I live a major city and often hear people street racing in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, these rules are needed in areas where people just can't be respectful of others.

It's why I live in a more rural area... where the kids do burnouts after midnight, my neighbor shoots at tannerite every Saturday afternoon and every sunday the old timers with the late 60's V8's rumble down to church.
