WTB Hitch for 2020 X3 M40i and modules/wiring kits (if available).
WTB Or WTT Hitch for 2020 X3 M40i and modules/wiring kits (if available). I'm not in a rush in needing it so i figured if any lease turn in's or second owners were trying to get rid of theirs I'd pick it up. You could even let me know if you're swapping one out in the future or want to trade out OEM parts to 'unhitch' yours.
If it doesn't pan out I'll just buy a new one eventually. Willing to work out shipping or meetup. There are some great rates with Pirateship Looking for: OEM Hitch Stealth Hitch Shoot me a PM with what you've got and we'll see if we can work something out. I just prefer the Stealth Hitch or OEM for the 25% higher capacity. The other Stealth in class is X3M only according to SH help. Lastly the guy who posted a trade out for OEM posted it before he even owned the car and now that he does is still not very serious/non responsive about it. |

Good luck. I have a similar post, already have all the non-hitch parts off one X3 and willing to pay for shipping lol.
If looking OEM, the module might be a hard sell to get unless you can undo the retrofit - the car will complain if it is removed (or added). My X3 I added it to (but haven't done the coding yet) complains (with CEL) not to use the trailer hitch as it may malfunction. I'll have to do that before I do my next oil change....

haha yeah... i had a few hits that ended up finding more local swaps. Seems everyone with a BMW lives in SoCal...
Its a pretty frequent occurrence of 2nd-3rd owners not wanting hitches... especially when you get into m40i territory. Its just a matter of finding the trifecta... someone on the forum, mechanically inclined, and motivated. I figure if they want the kick to open from mine that they would do some coding anyways. Honestly if i could just get the hitch and trims I'd buy the modules. retrofit price is absurd compared to the OEM option cost... so i likely wouldnt bite unless i find a swap or second hand. GL out there! pirateship.com for your shipping |

That's why I offered to pay shipping - pirateshipping lol. I used that buying tires of another forum member, he found it and we tried it out. Amazing little secret. I paid the OEM retrofit tax for my hitch - about $1400 all in for parts, plus some stuff for coding I wanted anyway to hopefully save the OEM coding cost. I keep a list of all components/part #'s/costs in my maintenance sheet just for a running tally and future reference.

I know what you mean. I come from the orbit of 10-15yo enthusiast cars where everyone DIYs...The forums were full of tech and grit. Its been quite a paradigim shift to modern Euros where most of the forum is talking lease terms, new build sheets, and CF trim kits instead of how to get the last header bolt out without pulling the engine.
