I think the interior of the X5 is a nice step up in quality from the X3. At least the pre-lci was, I haven’t been in the updated interior. Good luck and enjoy your X5!

I know how everyone talks about the interior of the X5 being minimally larger than the X3, but I continually pine over the idea of getting an X5. I like the road presence of its slightly larger size as well as the nicer interior and split tailgate. Sometimes when I come home from the store with stuff in back I have slight trepidation opening the rear wondering if something is going to fall out. I'd want the M60 which starts at $90k so my wallet doesn't like the idea as much as my lustful brain does.

I also considered the plug-in hybrid. But reliability hasn’t been as strong as the regular one, and I gather it isn’t available with adaptive suspension.

When shopping for CPO BMWs, I had to limit my searches to those with M Sport Differential so had to filter for M40is and for those 2022 or newer. I'm in Canada so it's not a standard feature. Crazy to find out that among the many CPO vehicles listed, only one (a 2023) had that feature. I guess some non-BMW dealerships didn't have access to look up the complete specs based off the VIN and BMW dealerships were mostly lazy not to include all the specs on their listings.
Good thing the vehicle was kinda fully loaded only missing leather (not that we care), ventilated front and heated rear seats. Had my wife gone with the new car purchase route, I would have opted for that M Sport Differential as to me, it's a no brainer to have torque vectoring rear differential as it helps in varying road conditions. The description mentions rain, snow, gravel I believe. I've seen enough Acura SH-AWD winter driving clips on YouTube that I know TVD helps a whole lot, over the regular torque transfer been just the front and rear axles. So it was an easy decision for us, we'd have to step of to the X5 M50i or newer M60i and the price difference would be at least $30,000, likely more. The X3 size is good enough for us coming from a '16 RAV4. We are already folding the mirrors when parking the X3 in the garage lol, I think the X5 would have been very painful to park inside. |

The X5 would have been a very viable option for me had the LCI been available at the time of order of my X3 M40i... the reason why is the LCI version of the B58 got 375hp from the pre LCI 335 hp... this power would have then matched the X3 M40i... they also added a lot of useful options like a performance exhaust in the LCI and made it look as cool as an X3 m40i... you can also get far better seats and far better leather in an X5.... all of those things would potentially have swayed me for $10k more. That being said... i haven't driven one hard enough to know if the weight / size would bother me all out... the m40i seems to feel far more nimble than an X5.

I did and it did. Too "boaty" for me. Extremely different from my X3 MSport with Dynamic Handling Package and lightweight motor up front for nimbleness.

Yea, i don't get why they don't offer a sport suspension option on the X5 at least w the m sport pack... i guess it's to keep differentiations.

My bank account thanks you. At least got a good discount on it and a bunch for my trade in so both of those help.

They do. The Adaptive M Suspension is part of the M Sport Package on the 40i and the standard suspension on the M60i. The Adaptive M Suspension Professional (DHP) is an option on the M60i.
