ODB2 On/Off Switch Cable advice?

Hi,
Anyone got any experience of using ODB2 extensions with ON/OFF Switches?
I need to attach a device to the ODB2 socket when driving, so rather than inserting it each journey and removing, was wondering if something like this would work: https://amzn.to/4aNJTxQ

I don't want to damage the electronics in the X3, so I was hoping someone here could offer up some advice.

Hi mate. Yes it works very well. I used one for a few years with no issues.

Just FYI, it's "OBD2" (OnBoard Diagnostics 2), not "ODB2", to avoid any confusion.
