Thoughts on 2021 BMW X3 M40i price?

I've been looking into used X3 M40is and I came across this car at a dealer and wanted to see if it seems like a good deal? It's CPO. Should I wait until the new model comes out and see if prices drop? FWIW, I saw a very similar car at another dealer with twice as many miles for the same price. Thanks!

I appreciate it's personal taste, but have you seen the Dark Wook Oak trim in person, as that would put me off.

No adaptive suspension, no tow hitch. If those aren't dealbreakers then it seems like an OK deal but not amazing.

I paid about that for my non-CPO 2019 with twice the miles ~2 yrs ago (and that was at the tail end of COVID pricing).

For comparison I got mine with the executive package, adaptive suspension, and all the other options you listed. The only thing I didn't get was the tow hitch. Mine was a CPO with 21,000 miles and I paid $48,000

Go over the codes with a fine tooth comb, to make sure that there aren’t any features that you want deleted due to COVID part supply issues. That vehicle may have been built before this became a problem. Check to make sure.

I bought my '21 two months ago from dealer in WPB FL. Has every option including trailer hitch except adaptive suspension and spare tire. List was $64+. Perfect condition with brand new Michelins and 17,4k miles. Paid $41,5. It's white with oyster which probably isn't on everyone's preferred color combo but looks great to me. Just an fyi.

Edit: mine also came with 20' wheels. Your going to need to replace those runflats and finding all seasons in 21" size will be a challenge. But maybe in SoCal you won't need them.

On second look it seems to be missing the driving assistant package (i.e. no adaptive cruise) so that's an immediate pass from me.

What package would have adaptive suspension / how do I tell by looking at the listing?
It looks like adaptive is standard on m40i's starting from 2022 models?

Most of what I see (even for new inventory) on the m40 is 21' wheels and staggered. Do most people just swap the tires out on their own after buying then?

It was a separate option.

Look for an "adaptive" button to the left of the drive mode buttons by the shifter.

And if you're interested in the driving assistant package, that would fill out the rest of the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Not optioned on the pic I found.

With that mileage in a '21 it's not bad of a price in my opinion. Really depends on whether the options it has suits your needs.

When I bought my 21 M40i it came with all the similar options you listed with some differences

Carbon fiber trim
Adaptive m suspension
Harman Kardan surround system
Black Vernasca leather

It had 27k miles on the odometer
I paid 47k

I'm located in Central NJ for what it's worth

Just bought a 2020 X4 M40i that had 16.7K, 21s, CF trim, HK stereo. That's about it I think.

Paid just over $43K in Hawaii. Love it so far. Nicest car I've ever owned.

Adaptive suspension was a stand alone option for $700 on '21s. in '22 it was standard.

Not a great price - you can find 2022s with similar spec/ mileage for <$50k. If you can come up with a touch more, there's a fully loaded 22 in Members Classifieds that's in SoCal with <10k miles.

Especially with the new model due this fall, I'd spend a bit more and get LCI (unless slightly different pre-LCI exhaust sound is a must-have.)

I don't think the pricing is too bad for a 2021. I'd negotiate down a bit on it.

I paid 41k plus taxes back in December, 24.5k miles. We then got a 21 in March for 40.5k, 27k miles. Right now you still can get a yearish of warranty, next year price will go down as they go out of warranty.

I personally wouldn't/didn't want an LCI. I like some of the look updates but not the hybrid addition.
