I always do my own work. Lots of experience removing trim, suspension work, etc etc….. I was able to release the first tab on the upper interior of the driver side. I was prying the trim back with pretty good force and trying to release other tabs with the trim tool and couldn’t get them to go. Spent about half an hour and had to shut it down for the day. They just weren’t budging and I was going to break something. Ugh.

I ended up accidentally tearing the plastic where the clips hold it in I was pulling so hard. Good news is, damage was all on the part I was replacing.

Same issue for me...

I have the black parts but found it too difficult to remove the silver ones. I resigned myself to the idea that I would have to remove the bumper to access the clips/tabs. I did some research to understand the location and orientation of those clips/tabs but even so it would be quite a challenge to release them.

Heat and trim tools are your friend.

What exactly would you heat up?

I think I’m just going to try to wrap them without removing them.

Heating the fog light protectors to make them more pliable.
I like the idea of wrapping them while they are on the car more.

Did you wrap the trim?
