Wife went from 545I and 550I to a X3 30 and liked it. Now has 2023 M40 and LOVES it!!!
Also rides a new Softail after RK and Street Glide.............

Indeed, it may vary by market. BMWUSA, my Service Advisor, and I can assure you that a US market 30i does not have mild hybridization, although the M40 does. Note this grab from the current website where that distinction is made. That iDrive display is non-existent in my vehicle. This is expected to change for the G45 when both the 4 and 6 will have mild hybridization, thus I bought the 2024 until the OEMs begin to use LFP or other safer batteries.

I’m pretty sure at MY22 LCI launch the only G01 model globally with MHEV tech was the M40 range.

The G01 M40d already had MHEV about a year prior to G01 LCI, but afaik non of the 4 pot models here had this at that time. We don’t get a 30i in this market only the 20i, which I think is a detuned version of the 30i 2l engine.

At some point since MY22, it appears in some market 4 pots also received the 48v MHEV system, but not the US.
