I’m not expecting a ton of feedback, but if anyone would care to weigh in re the four tire choices below. Three run flats (less than ideal but not a dealbreaker) and the Toyos
Treadwear and cost are not factors, and it’s summer conditions 12 months a year over here It’s the somewhat obscure sizes I’m going to that’s limiting my choices to these four…at least per Tire Rack 275/40/21 fr and 315/35/21 rear Thanks in advance |

The Ps4 is going to be the best all around tire here... I am biased towards Michelin from all of my M cars... I would only get runflats in the OEM tire in the OEM size... in different sizes, I would look at a standard michelin Ps4s.

Agree with ASAP but I will say I had Conti’s on my E90 M3 and they performed very well at the track.

I have not researched these tires specifically, but I have always enjoyed Pirellis over the other brands. I have had them on several vehicles and thought they provided the best ride.

I prefer Michelin, but also put Cont's on my X3 as they were on sale and I saved $400? I agree that they drive well especially in the wet.
If cost isn't a factor roll the Michelins |

I appreciate the contributions guys…thank you
It’s primarily the 21” diameter that’s boxed me into such limited choices, so it’s looking like it has to be a RFT. I don’t see the Toyos as being in the same league as the other choices I’ll expand my search beyond Tire Rack this weekend but am not hopeful |

I don't have experience with the Michelin or Toyo but my X3 came stock with Pirelli PZero (run flat) and I changed them for a set of Continentals (non run flat). I chose the Continentals from prior satisfaction with them on previous cars.
Continentals have provided noticeably better road feel as with the Pirellis I felt every crack and inperfection on the road. The Contis also feel like they have much softer rubber than the Pirellis which seemed stiff, if that makes sense. I've also had the opportunity to drive them a lot recently in bad weather conditions and they've handled beautifully on the wet roads. |

Not much choices available for the sizes you need and none of these tires would prevent you from ending up in the pacific during WOT but my vote goes to the michelin.

I can't relate to the size but I definitely would have most confidence in the Michelin tires. If cost is not a deciding factor, I would choose the PS4.

Those sizes match the 21" on my '22 X5 45e, and am surprised it doesn't suggest the Hankook Ventus S1 EVO3 SUV tires that came on it from the factory. First time with Hankook, and always used Continental and Michelin, but am quite pleased with the Hankook. Would order another set once these are due for replacement.

I heard of Hankook before, but snob appeal kicked in and never gave them a second thought on my other vehicles. However, picking up at PCD and seeing them I figured if BMW is fitting them as OE they can't be that bad. I can say they handle VERY well at 130mph on a SUV that weighs 5,672lbs.

Wow 315 is a massive rear tire. I assume that's primarily for aesthetics?
And I've been very happy with my DWS06s but I wager they're not available in the sizes you want. |

I would get yourself a spare tire kit or at least a flat repair kit with a small Jack and do away with the Run flats. Run Flats take so much away from your performance and handling that I can't stand them. A complete numb feeling when you're turning and the extra weight lowers your responsiveness. The michelins are your choice all day long but rather than getting the 4S I would get the 4S AS

Porsche Cayenne spec similar size tires. The fronts would be about a 1/3" wider. They don't use any runflats for a reason..., so there are a number of brand options
Front axle: 285/40 R 21 tires, Rear axle: 315/35 R 21 tires. My wife has the Pirelli's on her Porsche and they ride well, but OEM tires are different spec so source OEM BMW or Porsche tires if possible. |

Gritty
275 is as wide as I’m comfortable with up front on my X4. I don’t have any Cayenne experience so don’t know about that platform Also, I prefer the matched diameters of my sizes vs the 1% difference on the other. So much easier on the X Drive I’ve seen some P Zero non RFT in my desired sizes on the Pirelli site. Just need to find them listed for sale somewhere |

Adding a wrinkle here…
If I had the stones to go ultra low profile (35/30) there are a ton of Michelin/Pirelli/Continental options that are not RFT’s. Most of them for the Panamera The only non RFT option I’ve found in my preferred profile (40/35) is the Toyo Proxes Sport…nothing else I just don’t know about going with 35/30…my gut says it’s a bad idea |

I would go with a 35/30 Continental Sport Contact 7. In my opinion the perfect tire for the car.
Just saw that the sport contact 7 isn´t available in 315... But the SC6 would be. Also a great tire. Last edited by JonasM40i; 03-12-2024 at 10:26 AM.. |

I think going 35/30 on a 4400 lb SAV here would be a disaster waiting to happen Yesterday I did find P Zero non RFT in my preferred 40/35 sizes. They are the designated BMW models w/ the ⭐️ on the sidewall; I believe intended for the X5/X6 |
