Why do N55's always spin #6 rod bearing?
I have a 2014 X3 n55 car with a spun #6 rod bearing.
The oil has always been changed at 4000 miles using Liqui-Moly. Meticulously maintained and spoiled. I was driving through downtown the other night, at 25mph, when I started to get a tick,. By the time I had driven the 1/2 mile home that tick turned into a rod knock at #6. After talking to a lot of people, and doing a lot of research, I come to find out that spinning rod bearing #6 is the most common failure of these engines. Now, try to convince me these engines are not flawed. 50 years of my sports car and high-performance mechanics tell me they are. |

If the oil pump is in the front of the engine this would make sense because it’s the furthest from the pump. Did the drive chain break, low on oil ?what weight oil, etc
