water leaking into front right door
I am getting water on the front right sill plate of my 2027 X3 after a heavy rain. The weather seal on the door also gets wet. There is no water in the X3. I checked the sunroof and windshield drains and they all work perfectly. I took the car to a body shop and they could not find any obvious reasons for the water. This morning I put a hose to the front door and found that when I sprayed the front mirror and window some water seemed to enter the door. I was able to see water dripping from the front passenger door towards the front of the door and the water was coming from between the door and the interior door panel.
Any ideas regarding how the water is getting into the door and what my next steps should be? Thanks, John Thanks for your thoughts! John |

Most likely the door seal it is flimsy liner sealed around with butyl, you will need to remove the door card to inspect it but will be obvious when you see it , you may be able to reseal it with a heat gun common BMW issue unfortunately
Good luck 🤞🏿 |

Thanks for the reply. I will check out door panel removal and see if this is the problem.

No. It's just the right side that gets wet. Luckily nothing comes into the car yet.

I know that this is an older thread, but I’m having the same issue(passenger front) on my newly acquired 2016. I will try the recommendation. Please update any information when possible. Thanks

my '13 F25 once got flooded in the passenger footwell with an inch of water. I couldn't find the leak path. My sunroof drain was working fine, not clogged and I clean that sunroof drain regularly. The only thing that I can correlate to this mishap is that I park my car facing down the slope on my driveway. so I make sure I always park the car facing up the slope when it rains and I never had a flooding issue ever again. Don't know why.
