Allow me to reintroduce myself....
Been here since later 2021 when I purchased a brand new M40i and been a little BMW slut ever since. Gently modded her over the past couple years, and was very happy with the vehicle for almost 2 years. Then the unthinkable happened...
A little over a month ago, I started to have a small itch. I ignored it for a bit... you know what they say about scratching it. But that damn itch just kept getting worse!! I scratched it a bit, buying a bunch of little mods for my M40i, in hope of staving off the irritation. It worked for a time, then it came back with a vengeance. *sigh* I knew what needed to be done. Morning, afternoon, and night I searched for a gently used X3MC with all the options my little heart desired. After two weeks of searching far and wide, a new listing caught my eye. Said it was a 2022 BMW X3 M with 1450 miles... hmmmmm. No pictures yet, but I knew how stupid dealerships can be when listing these things. Quick VIN decoder search later revealed it was indeed a fully optioned M Comp. Picked it up a week later and I've been busy ever since. Finally got to fully bond with the new ride today by giving her my first hand job *ahem* errrrrr HAND WASH. Likely the last opportunity until it warms back up. TLDR: Had an M40i, got bored, bought a 2022 X3MC. WOOHOO! Mostly posting this as a running log of modifications in progress and completed. Performance mods completed: -RK Tunes dual front intake -Racechip GTS w/XLR5 -CTS Turbo high flow downpipes -xHP Performance mods in progress/ordered: -VTT GC+ Turbo upgrade -AA Equal Lenth mid-pipes Other mods: -MRG Titanium Stud conversion kit -Dinan 15mm spacers -BC Forged 21" RZ22s staggered w/Michelin PS4S (in the garage) -Currently on stock wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires Was running out if daylight but did get a few decent pics with the phone today. Threw in a few others from the past couple weeks too. Hope y'all enjoy, thrilled to have a full M in my meager stable |

It's all relative man. If a 4,500-4,600 lb AWD beast in bone stock form that runs mid 11's fresh off the factor floor isn't quick enough, you need stickier tires & more time perfecting launch control. LOL It's more powerful than you think.

But if you want a solid motor with medium sized street turbos that continues pulling all the way to redline, doesn't have a 5.5 k rpm torque curve plateau like may of the others... then you're going to have to sacrifice something. You can have most of your cake & eat it too. But you can't have the entire thing. I would much rather have a touch less lower RPM torque response that's easier on the drivetrain components, then a beast that wakes up at reasonable RPM's (similar to a naturally aspirated engine) & never stops. The S58 gives you everything all in one package. You can make the drive by wire pedal response sharper at initial throttle tip in is nice, but it makes all the other inputs above that a touch softer & more vague. If you're in the right gear at the right RPM's, there's never a lack of torque. And if you're at a standstill, that's exactly what LC was designed for. Just my .02 cents.

Not sure if you’ve seen our Members’ Wheel and Tire thread in the Stickies (https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1949903), but we currently have 111 combinations with known weights on 64%. Your BC Forged RZ22 combo is a new one, so while they are laying around in the garage – any chance you can share details (wheel size and ET) and weigh them (even if just on a bathroom scale)? Also will need the PS4S specs (OEM or 265/295... we know their weights). If you can also share an image of them even in the garage off your X3MC I’ll go ahead and set you up with a known weight listing of your own: Must_Go_FASTER : Total Wt F97/98 for BC Forged RZ22 (21x? +?, 21x? +?)/Michelin PS4S (2?/? R21, 2?/? R21) - ? lbs https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...65&postcount=1 {Ft wheel/tire: ? lbs, Rear wheel/tire: ? lbs}{Separate wts - Ft wheel: ? lbs, Ft tire: ? lbs, Rear wheel: ? lbs, Rear Tire: ? lbs} If you don't have a scale, your Vendor who sold you the wheels will have their weights (or BC Forged NA can also provide since they keep records on every wheel sold in the US). Thanks, and welcome aboard! |
