Do you have to order the executive package to get HUD?

Yeah, the exec package has some crap I don't need - but you basically have to buy it.

The only thing I find useless in the pkg is gesture control. Everything else is what I'd choose anyway.

If youre going competition just load it up, its easier to sell. Hud is amazing, heated seats needed for old backs. Moonroof adds life to the box.

Appreciate it you guys - I guess I just a touch freaked that this car will cost as much as my M4.

Exec package
shadowline lights
vent seats (live in the south)

Lemme know if you guys have any other lessons on purchase/colors/etc.

And again - appreciate help. Should put my order in this week.

I have the vented seats and don't notice much when they're on, wife swears by them though

I honestly use the drive assist on almost every highway drive now, car drives itself, road trips are easy as hell. I dont get why people think its stupid, when you commute to work its nice to lessen the brain load in the morning.

I agree, I can never tell they're on, even when on the highest setting. The ventilated seats on our Grand Cherokee were excellent & the cooled steering wheel. I wouldn't pay extra for them on the BMW.

Yes! Driver Assistance Pro is a MUST. Driving 295 in to DC...its the only way I don't murder every other driver. I listen to my audio books, I drink my coffee, the car does 90% of the driving itself

Why do you expect it to cost much less? It is pretty much the same engine and transmission bolted onto a heavier and bigger shell, a raised wagon. Pretty sure it would have cost way more in the States if they were built in Germany even excluding the 2.5% import tax.

Take a look at UK site where base M3 wagon cost £5K more than sedan and 4K more than M4. X3MC starts at £92K which by the way is around $112K!!!

Are the X3MC's in the UK built at the SC, USA factory? X3M (at least in my area) was cheaper and easier to come by than a M3; the markup on those is ridiculous 2023 (at the time) MSRP for a 2021 M3

I think all X ICE BMWs are made in SC except for X1/X2. Not sure about iX.

M3 is made in Germany and takes minimum 3 months delivery on custom order with no production delays or backlogs.

I was looking at an RS5 and it had a 1 year min wait and one of the reasons I went with X3MC last year.

BMW is the largest US car exporter in terms of total dollar amount(not number of cars but value)

I get it. Probably biggest issue I have w/ the X3M is limited color options vs M3/4. 8 colors options for x3m vs 13 for the M4 and 14 for the M3.

I'm a tedious, tedious (read - painful) buyer. I feel a bit like I am "settling" on a color for the x3m vs a lot of choices otherwise.

I'm just a cheap MF and am whining a bit... I "do" think the S58 is a special engine. Looking forward to having a second one in the family/stable.



And I DO appreciate this forum - tons of good posts from you guys and help with choices...

Why not go with an Individual color - 19 different color options?

You can do an Individual color for $4500 I believe. I was going to do it but wait times were close to 7-9 months at the time due to supply chain issues. My stock color order took 4 months then.

drive assist with adaptive cruise control is fantastic and very safe the car will slow down on its own if car in front brakes or a car cuts you off, very very good tech, lane assist is ok and I use it. and heads up display is a must for me now, would never ever buy a new car without hud. live in Quebec, so heated seats and steering wheel a must as well.

Both times I test-drove an X3M with vented seats they were unimpressive. I currently live in the south too and I passed on them. All the other packages are legit and you definitely can't go wrong with the shadowline lights.

The driver assistance package is great for long drives. Its level 2+ autonomous driving and is great for road trips. I highly recommend it.

I've been eyeing a 2022 X3MC in MBB that doesn't have the HUD and it's bothering me more than it should. My M40i has it and I recently drove a 30i w/o HUD and it was crazy how weird it felt to not have it....

Not sure if I can bring myself to buy one without the HUD. Can't find much about retrofitting one either *sigh*

No kidding. Main reason why I order exec package. WHY HUD does not come w/ expensive comp package is a true mystery. It's a performance option after all...
